Maybe I got a bad one, but the threads were too tight and ate up several PVC fittings. I tried connecting a brass nipple but it would only go in three threads before cracking the regulator. I threw this straight into the trash!

The latter brand in my title has had numerous class action lawsuits. Cash Acme I trust as a plumber. These are so much better than Z or Z or W. Im not allowed to use other brands but consider a lightbulb.. how do you predict the size? OK. point made. Cash Acme is the absolute best, and to discover they are actually cheaper, that's the most no-nonsense decision ever. Buy it. It works.

Worked wonderfully for my automatic chicken watering system ran on 1/2" PVC. Easy to install, no leaks and a breeze to make initial adjustments and maintains consistent pressure. Highly recommend over plastic low pressure regulators. My application is 5-12 psi & it works!

Works well for my drip systems. I have 3 sites (15 valves overall), each of which use a single regulator upstream of the valves, and these work beautifully. The adjustability lets me tailor the pressure to the usage. Regulates better at 25 PSI or so than the brass RV regulators that include a nearly useless 160 PSI gauge. And they are cheaper!

If you read their web page or the Amazon page it mentions ok where code allows iron body valves. But, on the bottom of the box, in small print it says "This produce is not intended to convey or dispense water for human consumption through drinking or cooking." Kind of a long way to say it's not for drinking water, which is different from their web page and listing. How much you worry about cast iron in your water system is up to you (and your building inspector). Be sure to use dielectric junctions to any copper pipe.Excellent for drip systems and other irrigation use.Other than that, it works well.
