I've had the pleasure of using this tortilla press for a few weeks now, and it has truly made a difference in my kitchen routine. When I first got it, I was a bit skeptical about whether it would be sturdy enough for frequent use, but right out of the box, it proved to be very well-built. The bamboo material gives it a nice, natural look, and it feels solid in your hands. The press itself is smooth, and I can tell it will last for a long time if taken care of properly. One thing I love is how easy it is to use—there's no need for complex techniques. Just place the dough between the parchment paper sheets, press down, and within seconds, you have a perfectly flattened tortilla. It works great for both corn and flour tortillas, and the size is ideal for making standard-sized tortillas, which is perfect for wraps and tacos. Another benefit I found is that the 50 parchment paper sheets that come with it make a huge difference in terms of cleanup. The dough doesn't stick to it, so you don’t need to worry about it getting stuck to the press, which makes the whole process smoother. The press itself is very easy to clean; I just wipe it down with a damp cloth and it’s good to go. No heavy scrubbing needed. As far as durability goes, I’ve used it quite a bit, and I haven't noticed any cracking or splitting in the bamboo, which can be a concern with some wood products, but this one seems to hold up very well. A key point here is that the press doesn’t feel flimsy like some of the cheaper versions I’ve seen, and it doesn’t take up too much counter space either, which is a big plus in my kitchen. I’ve also used it for other doughs—like making patacones and empanadas—and it works just as well for those. If you're someone who likes to make homemade tortillas regularly, you’ll appreciate how effortless it makes the process. It’s not only good for tortillas but versatile enough to be used for other dough-based recipes. That said, one thing to keep in mind is that, if you're used to a heavy metal press, it may feel a little less forceful at first, but once you get used to it, the amount of pressure it applies is perfect. You won’t find yourself having to press too hard to get nice, even results. One minor thing to note, though, is that since it’s made from bamboo, you’ll want to be careful not to leave it in a very humid environment as the bamboo can absorb moisture and warp. It’s best to store it in a dry place to extend its lifespan. If you’re a fan of homemade tortillas and are looking for a reliable, easy-to-use press that won’t break the bank, this one is a great option. It’s become a regular in my kitchen, and I recommend it to anyone who enjoys cooking Mexican food or just wants a quicker and more efficient way of making flatbreads. From the quality of the material to how simple and effective it is, it’s a great addition to any home cook’s arsenal.

This bamboo tortilla press looks fantastic and adds a nice traditional touch to the kitchen. It’s lightweight yet sturdy, and the natural bamboo gives it a unique look compared to metal presses. The included parchment paper sheets are a nice bonus.Functionally, it gets the job done, but it does take some effort to press tortillas evenly. The handle is comfortable, but you need to apply firm pressure to get thin, uniform tortillas. It works best for corn tortillas, but flour dough takes a bit more force. The hinges feel decent, but I wouldn’t go too hard on them over time. If you’re making tortillas frequently and want something heavy-duty, a cast iron press might be better. But for occasional use with a great aesthetic, this one is solid. Recommended for casual tortilla makers!

Today I use my new Square tortilla press. It's the hardest thing to use. It doesn't pressed to a 6 or 8. Inch, like it's marked on the press, it's barely a 3 inch. I've been making Tortilla since I was 14 years old.I've been rolling them out and decide to try a Tortilla press.I wish I had never bought it . I think I'm gonna ask for a refund.

This took me too much to effort to make my tortillas flat. I'll stick with my iron cast that helps flattens out my balls to flat tortillas with only 1-2 tries.

I've been looking into making my own tortillas for awhile now. Family and friends said they not only taste better, but may even be more cost effective. You also won't have to live with those added preservatives.I was happy to find this tortilla press on Amazon Vine to try out. I've never made tortillas before, so I did some research and couldn't find anything on actually making them--you know like tortilla making 101 for dummies. The dough however is a very simple recipe. Now to the press. The press is heavy thick bamboo, its nicely crafted. You have to screw the handle on when it arrives. They also include some parchments and a recipe. In making the tortillas with this, I couldn't seem to get enough leverage press to make a flat tortilla. I actually had to use my hands to flatten the dough out into a round considerably before it would flatten much in the press. I'm not a wimpy girl either. I think the mechanical physics just isn't there--needs more work in the design.I was able to make a batch of tortillas though--had to keep turning the tortilla for even pressing. In the end they were very tasty as anticipated. As to the functionality of the press--it did press tortillas, but I wonder if it might be easier just to roll them out. I'm next going to try and make corn tortillas for nacho"s!
