good wheel. fits a 12 speed hg cassette, which is what i was looking for. freehub is not quiet like others have said, sometimes this is useful. the wheel isn’t completely straight and there is some extra runout that i can notice sometimes. won’t take a lot to straighten. packaging was good, no damage.

I usually buy brand name wheel/hub but in this economy I gotta give the ZTZ a try. It was $80 and I was skeptical at first but after 2 months of 2-3 rides/week it has been very pleasant so far. I bought the 27.5 front wheel to replace my 10 year old cup and cone bearing MTB front wheel that is well worn and has a bent axle from a crash. Pleasantly surprised at the quality of this wheel. It came perfectly true right out of the box and the spoke tension is symmetrical. Rode over 300 miles(paved and unpaved trails) with this new wheel since and it has been holding up excellent. No play, no rattling, no noise. It's not the lightest wheel out there in terms of weight but I don't feel the effects of the weight when accelerating or climbing. I feel that getting good quality tires with low rolling resistance and light weight are more important. This wheel has very low friction/rolling resistance, I put my new tire on and spun it to 120 rpm and it spun for 4min and 7 seconds before coming to a complete stop. This is >30 seconds longer than my much more expensive rims/hubs! I have been rough a few times, ie: did a few small jumps, hit some potholes, and had a few soft crashes here and there and the wheel has held up fine for the most part but it has some minor buckling(untrue) at different spots, which I had to true it up myself but nothing major, this is expected of a rim this price. Overall 4.5/5.

Fixing up my back-up bike so I was looking for some inexpensive wheels. These wheels are actually lighter than the Mavic Crossroc wheels they replaced. They roll very smoothly and feel light and fast. I have put about 50 trail rides on the rear wheel and it's holding up well. Only minor issue is there are six pawls, so when you quit pedaling, the rear hub sounds like a swarm of locusts. No biggie, but I certainly wouldn't call it a quiet hub. I'll update if problems develop. One other issue you should be aware of is if you take out the skewer adapters on the back hub, you can pull off the freehub without having to remove any retainers. Be careful to keep track of all the washers. The small washer goes back on first, then the larger washer fits around it. If you get them on in the wrong order, the cassette won't spin easily.

Bought this as a replacement for my damaged rear wheel ( stock Marin Bobcat Trail4).The rim is tubeless ready, I moved my tubeless tire from damaged stock rim, though had to use airpop for initial inflation, my compressor couldn't make it from the start, maybe 'cause this rim is not as wide and deep as my old one or the tire wasn't new. So far, after a few singletrack runs the rim is holding good. One note: the hub is a bit noisy in idling :) Doesn't bother me, and on the bright side, you could save on a bell, just stop pedaling and you'll be heard :)

Liked the rims a lot. Didn’t care rim stickers so I stripped them off. If it was red and white might have left them on. But they’re red and kind of rainbow reflective. Solid gloss black definitely better! Weight of rims good. Would buy again.
