What is a peat pot?
They are pots made from peat moss that has been combined with shredded wood fibers and firmly compressed.
These pots provide an friendly way to start seeds or seedlings, can be planted directly in the ground, which reduces risk of root injury to seedlings since the plant is not disturbed when transplanting it into your garden soil.
How To Use Peat Pots
Fill the pots with potting soil
Plant your seeds or seedling in the pots
Place the pots in a warm, sunny area indoors or outdoors

I mean it's a peat pot, it does what a peat pot does. I would recommend them if you just want some peat pots. Tons of peat pots to watch your plants eventually try to grow out of - the plant roots grow right on through the peat before you even plant it, so it's not constricting material the small plant's roots can't peirce straight through. Transplant tips: Just tear off the top of the pots rim around the plant to prevent it from retaining water trying to get to your new transplant and tear of the bottom underneath the pot if you can so the roots can go further down when the pots are ready to be transplanted. Have fun gardening!

First time gardener here, so factor that in with these comments. I used these to hold transplanted seedlings from the small cells and before final planting in the garden (grow bags). They are very solid and easy to work with. They did pick up some mold after a few weeks, but I assume that is not a big deal and may be expected. But the mold forced me to move them out of the sunroom and into the garage. Luckily the weather was warming up so the garage was not much cooler than the house.I planted the veggies and sunflowers directly in these pots. Before dropping them in, I moistened and squeezed holes in them to allow the roots to expand more easily. The top rim is pretty solid, so I only pressed it to soften it up before planting. My only concern is how leaving the plant in these pots will impact growth. Unfortunately, I did not plant some without the pots so it will be hard to determine. However, its a month since I planted in grow bags, and everything is really popping. It would be hard to imagine things looking better.

Germinated a lot of seeds I thought as I planted and watered the pot would start breaking away a bit but the card board cup is strong and after being wet , sitting outside just dries up and stays strong so I took everything out of cup to plant in ground Incase it did not become one with the soil So defeated the whole idea of not disrupting the root system I would not purchase again

These pots are cheap and yet they do their job extremely well. Never used them before, but started growing habanero plants. We transplanted into these and watched em grow. The paper-ness of the plants is nice because they get wet when you water, and the soil pulls away from the sides when they dry...giving you a good indicator of moisture. However, we had to use a baking tray to water as they got more delicate when they were wet.After enough time, we transplanted out of these into planters and it was nice to be able to peel away the pot versus digging at the roots. I'm not sure if these are supposed to biodegrade, but we had them inside...so we took them off.There is a risk of too much moisture...we got some mold on some plants and on the outside of the peat pots, but that's just because we're noobs at this. We probably could have transplanted out of these far earlier than we did.Anyway...great pots and will be buying again for our next crop.
