About this item

  • Z-WAVE DIMMER: Turn your lights on or off and dim them from the switch or in your hub's app. Please use quality dimmable bulbs for best results (avoid big-box store brands). Hub required (sold separately), scroll down for compatibility. Voice control with Z-Wave hub ONLY (will NOT work directly with your smart speaker).
  • NEW 800 SERIES Z-WAVE LONG RANGE: Boost your network with the latest Z-Wave technology that offers more range and faster signal speed than ever before. Your hub or smart home software needs to support Long Range for ultra reliable hub-to-device communication. Each dimmer will act as a signal extender in the traditional mesh network. And if you need to troubleshoot connectivity issues, access the built-in range test tool straight from your switch!
  • DIRECT 3-WAY: Wire it just like the Zooz ZEN22 model. Use it with existing on/off switches (NO dimmers) in a 3-way set-up, no need for add-on switches. Please follow the appropriate diagram in the manual and rewire both boxes exactly as shown. Works great as a single pole dimmer too! Neutral wire required (check your boxes before buying).
  • BETTER FIT: The new model is just 1.16" deep so it's easier to install it in a shallow or crowded box! There are no heat sink tabs either, just place it next to the other switches in a multi-gang box. And if you need a different color paddle, just ask Zooz for light almond, brown, or black options (NOT included, sold separately) - the white paddles can be replaced.
  • MORE FEATURES: Double tap to go from off to full brightness (single tap to last brightness level - now fully programmable if your hub supports advanced settings). Disable the relay and use the dimmer as a remote control for your smart bulbs, multi-tap triggers (aka scene control) available for if you have access to advanced features from your hub.
  • LATEST SECURITY: Equipped with the new S2 authenticated security protocol and SmartStart for instant and safe pairing. Z-Wave Plus and ETL certified for communication and safety standards compliance. Lifetime tech support and an extended 5-year warranty once you register your device.

NOTE: Check Wattage first: DON'T exceed 150 W for LED's or 500 W for incandescent. Do NOT connect this dimmer to ceiling fans, receptacles, tube lights, motors, or home appliances
    NEUTRAL WIRE REQUIRED

      SPECIFICATIONS:
      • Model Number: ZEN72 800LR
      • Z-Wave Region: US/CA/MX
      • Power: 120 VAC, 60 Hz
      • Maximum Loads: 500 W Incandescent, 150 W LED's
      • Z-Wave Range: Up to 300 feet line of sight between the switch and the hub (up to 1300 feet with Z-Wave Long Range enabled)
      • Operating Temperature: 32-104° F (0-40° C)
      • Installation and Use: Indoor only

Will it work with your smart speaker?
Smart speakers are not Z-Wave controllers so you will need a compatible Z-Wave hub to control this dimmer with voice.
Smart speaker compatible Z-Wave hubs include:
      • Z-Box Hub
      • Compatible with SmartThings (or the Aeotec Smart Home Hub)
      • Hubitat
      • Home Assistant

I have a large smarthome implementation with SmartThings. I have several device brands in my smarthome but I am now sold on all devices in the ZOOZ Brand. They are easy to install, work reliably well and the 800 series have great long range networking. This is my new go to brand for my smarthome/SmartThings setup.

These are super functional, easy to connect, identically sized to traditional switches & provide a great alternative to smart switches where wiring a 3 way might not be feasible. The company has awesome installation instructions and good customer service too!

Bought this as a replacement to a failed ZWave switch. Easy to setup and quickly recognized by SmartThings (and Alexa). One observation - this device responds quicker than my other ZWave devices.3-way did not initially work, then I read the instructions. Clearly stated, this device is to be used in conjunction with a traditional mechanical 3-way switch. The replaced device used an electronic “add on” switch, which does not work with this device. I replaced the add-on with a mechanical 3-way and voila, all is good. This is actually a good thing as you don’t need to replace any traditional switches on the same circuit as this device.

I am in the long process of changing my smart home from insteon devices to Z-Wave-based devices. Several months ago I decided to purchase Zooz devices. They are reasonably priced. They seem to be very durable. And their configuration options allow for complete customization. They dim from 99% all the way down to 1% with a compatible light fixture.Using Home Assistant software, they even support direct association which allows for true 3 way functions without the need for rewiring. Great for remodeling. So far I have replaced 49 insteon devices with Zooz units, and I couldn't be happier. Not a single dud, easy setup, and after 2 years not a single failure. I have 28 more devices to do and I am confident they will be Zooz devices. As always, if you need it, get it. You won't be disappointed.

One of my first smart devices was a Zzoz battery operated motion sensor that was awful, so I was kind of turned off of them for years.I wanted this particular style of switch to match an existing one so I figured I'd give them a try again. These switches have been working well since installing them. They are about 100 feet away from my hub, through two exterior walls and still stay connected.Pairing to my Hubitat was pretty simple. The first one didn't work on the first try, so I moved onto the second and it paired immediately. Went back to the first one and it paired immediately too. I figured the first one hadn't had time to find a signal yet.I am now considering trying more Zooz products now.

Flexibility, and ease of installation-Nice wire connections-Compact sizeAlso has scene control (now I will need to learn how to set this up)A bit pricey, but you do not have to buy a second or a third smart device, for 3or4 way configurations. Standard 3way switches work.Seems to Function very well

Bought this to replace an older Zwave switch that was getting flakey and missing on/off commands from the hub. This one has not mis-fired once. Zwave Plus is a worthy investment for those looking for improved reliability and range. Solidly built, works great with my Hubitat hub. The Hubitat Zooz app also supports changing the LED indicator colour. Installation was only mildly tricky, figuring out how the wire terminal clamps work. Very happy overall.

I assume the supply chain issues, semiconductor shortage drove up z wave prices. This was relatively priced well. I have 14 pot lights in basement. Led, like less than 10 watts each. This works with smartthings. Now I don't need to get my butt off sofa. Only complaint... as I was installing it, turning breaker back on, pots were live but in the lowest dim level... to me they looked off. So I assumed wiring was wrong... wasted like 30 min playing with wires only to realize it was working at the beginning. Held up for a few seconds, and boom, lights were working. Odd.

I highly recommend Zooz switches and dimmers. Everything about this switch makes you feel you have purchased a quality product. The packaging, the instructions, the flawless way it includes itself, web site, and customer service are all first rate. The feature that allows you to use a three way switch and wiring currently in place to turn the light on or off from another location saves you $20 for the GE accessory switch, and some time compared to the GE/Honeywell/ultra pro switches from Jasco. Note that you turn on and off, but cannot dim remotely with an old manual switch. There are also no fins you have to break off. Dimming works well with a truly dimmable LED, like FEIT.I’ve installed hundreds of home automation switches, and these are the best, but although I gave 5 stars to this switch compared to others, a couple of issues miss actual perfection. First, the paddle assembly appears to be about 1mm larger than other switches. If your house is 25+ years old and uses the thick, hard Leviton switch plates, you may need to buy new plates. Don’t force the switches into the plate. They will bind and will eventually not operate properly. Either file the old plate larger (a PITA) or drop a buck or two on a new plate (recommended). Many of the new plates are screwless, and it is a nice look you may want to include in your upgrade anyway. Regardless of the brand of switch, it seems I have a 50/50 chance of breaking the old, brittle multiple gang plates anyway trying to wrestle all the switches into place. Also, unlike the GE/Jasco, these switches do require that you know which wire is your line (hot) and which is the load (light), and they come with nice labels for the wires and excellent instructions. No big deal, and I think it is safer to know which wire is hot anyway. Finally, there is capacity. These are 300 watt dimmers rather than the 500 or 600 watt capacity on Jasco and some other HA technology. The Zooz switches are made for the 21st century. They use neutrals so that LED bulbs are welcome, take up less depth in the box and have no heat fins. They play well with LEDs (though beware that many “dimmable” LEDs are flickering junk, no matter the switch). At 300W, these dimmers will not handle a vanity mirror light with a large array of incandescent bulbs. If someone insists on keeping and dimming a power hungry dinosaur like that, don’t use the Zooz dimmer. This one is good for 5 60w bulbs, but some builders thought 6 or 8 would look luxurious.Enjoy!
