We run the pool sweep about 10 hours/day for about 8 months/year. So far, these last about 5-7 years. They are easy to work with and obtain parts. The only part you need to replace is the diaphragm which is readily available from multiple sources and is inexpensive.

Love this pool cleaner. It really cleans very well. Nothing to assembly either. Very easy and does not weigh much at all. Great value! Great buy!

Suction is pretty weak. The device likes to go to deep end and stay there or get hung up on wall and not move again. It will pick up leaves and small particles but will do nothing about algae even after multiple passes that is if it doesn’t trundle off to the deep end or a wall and stay there. This seems to be the MO for all products at this price point

How long it lasts and how well it works it totally up to the consumer. This item is about as simple in design as it is to operate. Proper care will ensure a long and happy coexistence. This is my third cleaner (same family line for about 30 years) I have a 12,000+ gallon pool (screened) in Florida. I use this about 3 days out of the month. The cleaner will complete its task in about 8 to 10 hours. The time it is not in the pool it is kept dry and out of direct sun. This allows me anywhere from 4 to 5 years of worry free reliability before having to replace the diaphram or skirt. The case will last alot longer. I looked at the gear driven cleaners but as a mechanice my theory is the less moving parts mean less to break or wear out. If you like simplicity with great results this is your cleaner.

When we first received the Baracuda there was no manual in the box. The quick instructions that were in the box were really confusing. Thankfully, my pool man knew exactly what to do. It works BEAUTIFULLY!! It is the first one that really works and doesn't stop because a leaf or something got stuck. It moves up the wall easily. This Baracuda was one of the least expensive ones we owned, but it has so far been the best. LOVE IT!!!

While this is a good pool cleaner, it has a life of about 3 years when you will need to replace it with a new one due to parts wearing out that cannot be inexpensively replaced. During the three years, you will need to replace several parts readily available at Amazon. This was a new one replacing my original same one 3 years old.

This replaced my 15 year old Barracuda that finally had no more body left to rebuild. IMO the Barracuda G3 is the best suction side cleaner on the market, partly because it is dead simple and easily repaired. My new G3 arrived quickly and was in the pool in less than a half hour. The shipped model did not have the locking hoses, which I was happy for. This G3 works better than my old one! Pool is sparkling and the little guy scoots around much faster than the older model. The included extra diaphragm and skirt make for a good value. Very happy.
