It is all plastic and the clear caps you take off to put seed in are very hard to remove without breaking. When you try to dispense the seeds don't drop out of seed dispenser but end up at the end of it. Theory is good but not there yet in design or application.

I have only used three of the tools in this package so far and I just don't know how I ever transplanted seedlings without them. I am able to make perfect holes for the roots to slide down into and one side of the tool even has a little shovel type end that can help push soil around the transplant. I am an avid gardener and if you have never used tools designed to help with transplanting, you are missing out just as I have all of these years. My most recent transplant was butterfly vine seeds. I started the seeds in small baggies and the roots were four to six inches long before I transplanted them. These tools helped in the process of getting the delicate roots into the soil without damage. I don't know the individual names of the tools, perhaps a small dribble? but I know I won't be without them ever again.

Before purchasing this item, I did not have any of these little gadgets and am really happy I spent a few dollars to make my life easier while planting seeds. These tools allow me to keep my hands clean and free of soil while seeding which I like. I also like that I am better able to save excess seeds and store them without getting soil on the extra seeds. The covers on the seeders all adjust as advertised. The large dibber feels nice and solid even though I know it's only plastic and fits very well in my hand. The smaller dibber and fork work really well for pricking out seedlings when potting up. With care, in my opinion, these items will last for decades. I wish I would have bought a set like this years ago.

I chose this planting tool set after looking over all of the possibilities for a long time. My order came quickly and the parts were all intact as expected. Yesterday I planted using the tools and they seed dispenser made the job of planting lettuce seed quick and painless. Each easily dibbled pot received only one seed and the flats were finished in just a few minutes. The remaining seed went back into its envelope quickly and the whole operation was much cleaner and more precise. For the money this was a great purchase.

If you are planning to plan trees and well developed annuals, this kit is not for you. This set is really designed for us silly people who start or flowers and veggies from seed weeks in advance of the last frost. That are smaller scale and work very well with seedlings. My favorite tools are the two seed droppers. If we are talking seed smaller than squash, these are must have if you want to only put 2 or 3 seeds per pot or planting location. May not be too hard with Zinnias and parsley but when you get to basil and oregano these help you avoid having to cull 90% of the plants that grow. I find the small "uproot and planter" tools great for moving seedlings from a mass bed to individual pots. Have not had a chance yet to use the diddle but it seems like it will be a nice for moving well developed plants to a permanent bed. Finally, for the price, I felt this set could not be beat.
