Good replacement for the old style naphtha fueled inserts. Uses a flint and works well. Gives the same kind of yellow flame as the disposable plastic ones. I have two and have not experienced the overly large flame problem mentioned in a couple other reviews. I also have one of the piezo fired blue flame inserts and it's finicky and I wouldn't recommended it. This one is the one to get.

Does the job if you like Zippos. Not being able to adjust the flame and not being wind proof like the normal inserts are the biggest draw backs.

Great combination of butane, and original performance. Love the yellow flame for lighting fires, cigars, cheating thermocouple. I find the torch tips from most butane lighters too direct or too hot. Fuel capacity is good enough to last on a week long camping trip too.

If you are looking for the perfect soft flame solution for lighting your favorite pipe let recommend this insert. Fits my existing Zippo lighter perfectly and works like a charm. Filled it. Let it set for a few minutes and it was ready to go. Great value for the money. Appears to be very well made. And flame is just right!!! Wish I had purchased this a couple of lighters ago!!!

What I like: easy to maintain because you don’t need flints or wicks, fuel lasts longer than the regular insert, pretty yellow flame, seems sturdy.Be aware that you must keep the button depressed once struck because the flame goes out when released. You may or may not like that. I prefer it because it’s safer. Also, before refilling, make sure you bleed it to remove any air or there will be less room for the fuel and it won’t last as long between refills. Check YouTube for how to do it - it’s quick and easy.

The insert fits into the zippo shell perfectly. But it should since both items are made by zippo. The butane fuel loads easily into the lighter and burns cleanly without any fuel odor. The flame itself cannot be adjusted and here lies one of the problems. Some say the flame is too tall. I find that after I load the fuel I then purge some of the fuel out and the flame is at a more modest height. I also found that with time, I have the same insert that I bought a year ago and it appears that with time the flame height becomes more manageable. No matter what some people may claim there is no screw to adjust the flame. Even zippo on their website admits that this particle insert does not have an adjustment screw. The flat screw on the bottom of this insert is for loading and unloading and adjusting the flint. It does not adjust the flame. Look at my title. This review is for this particle insert and not a butane torch. The fuel lasts substantially longer then the regular smelly messy zippo famous in ww2 and Vietnam. Nothing like a dry lighter at the end of the current fire fight.

This insert works just fine, but the flame is much bigger than it needs to be, wasting fuel. Unless I'm mistaken, there is no way to make the flame smaller. Anyone know what uses more fuel, this or the blue flame insert?Also, the button that keeps the fuel going is too small , only about 1/3 inch, and my thumb can not rest comfortably on it. There's plenty of space inside the ignition chamber to make that part smaller and move the wheel and flint closer to the hinge.

用途は葉巻とパイプへの着火である。良い点・着火性、火の安定性が非常に良い。・火は小さくなるものの、1月の寒い屋外でも十分使用に耐える。・本体の蓋の開閉に何ら影響を及ぼさない。音もしっかり鳴る。気になる点・ジャックダニエルの黒マット塗装のケースを使用しているが、若干緩く、使用に影響する程ではないが、使用しているうちに浮き上がってしまう。真鍮無地のアーマーZIPPOや、別のノーマルZIPPOに入れてみるとぴったりだったので、ケース側の個体差の問題だと思われる。本品側面にマスキングテープを貼って調整すれば解決した。・ガスライターによくある火力調節機能がない。屋内では4～5cmの火が出るため、個人的には火力過剰である。とはいえ、この大きい火力設定のおかげで冬の屋外でも使用できることを考えれば、妥協はできると思う。悪い点・ガスを出すボタンが小さい上に傾斜がついているので、たまに滑ってボタンを押し損ねる。せっかくの着火性の良さが生かされない。総じて、いくつかの欠点はあるものの、以前使用していたZIPPO用他社製（ガスタンク部が透明でダブルフレームターボ式の）インサイドユニットとは使用感が雲泥の差である。減少し続けるソフトフレーム式のガスライターをお探しの諸兄姉には、強くおすすめの商品である。

Ive never use a zippo insert before so this is a first for me...its not so wind proff as the gas one but the butane last long so its a win win for me...aver all its in excellent condition and the seller is fast on delivery.
