These devices are a great way to pull counter top together.

These fasteners are a game-changer for installing countertops and furniture. I used them to secure a butcher block countertop, and the process was quick and seamless. The single-handed tightening design makes it incredibly user-friendly. If you’re tackling a DIY countertop project, you’ll want these in your toolbox!

I am using these for butcher block countertops. I researched several different options for anchoring my joints, and this was the most cost effective option. Also they are very strong. I used tools owned,,,,,a skill saw and hole saws to create the countersinks. When joining they hold a lot of torque. I can apply a lot of force to the gear driven volt without worry of stripping. My next joint is the 45° corner joint. I will update with how well they hold up while under stress of moving the 300lbs after joining. I also fabricated some steel flat bars to hold the surfaces flush.

The zip bolts are very easy to use and as you can see from the pictures did a great job joining to very large slabs of butchers block. After tightening the bolts we were able to pick up the 180lb butcher block and move it around without any effect on the joint. I would recommend getting a 1 3/8” forstners bit ( Diablo bits are great) to cut the hole for the bolt heads and then a 3/8” router bit to cut the channel for the shaft.

I got a pack of 5 and 4 of them worked pretty well to pull my counter top together tightly. Make sure you route out a good profile! I got one in the pack that would not tighten down, it felt like the mechanism inside was defective. It would also be nice if it came in an even 6 pack since they recommend 3 for each miter/joint.

I bought these to "merge" 2 pieces of acacia butcher block together. I needed a 4' x 8' piece and to buy that vs. 2, 2' x 8' pieces was multiples of $$ so I got the idea of buying 2 pieces and butting them together. These bolts are essentially close clamps that allow you to force the pieces together and hold them together. I might have been able to take them out after the glue dried, but I don't want to risk a failure of the seam over $50 in bolts so I left them in place.Do yourself a favor and get the proper sized forstner bit for the round cavities and use a router to mill out the channel. The bolts come with a template of sorts (not really size for size though). The only con about these is that the ratcheting mechanism didn't seem super strong. That mechanism allows you to open/close the bolt by using a standard screwdriver and "converts" your torsional movement to torsion in a perpendicular direction, but it doesn't feel very strong. I didn't have an issue, but as I was tightening it I couldn't help but think it would strip. I don't know if these include a torque spec.

Used this on a desk project. They hold my pieces with enough strength to hide the seams on the other side. The provided bit works perfectly as well.Small recommendation is to make the channels a bit wider than you need to give you space for adjustments. Once everything is lined up, tightening the bolts is simple and quick. The only cons I have for zipbolts are the thickness. Most bolts are quite deep, which lebes very little material between the top, but otherwise this is all you'd expected. I will definitely use then again, and strongly recommend!

Working blind with arm fully extended under a countertop, the Zipbolts made adjustments super easy. The shape of the adjustable end of the Zipbolt makes it easy to locate the hex socket and tighten or loosen the bolt without having to reset the screwdriver position unlike a nut and bolt style connector bolt.
