I use this to create patina on brass and copper that I use in my sculptures. It works well for this purpose.

Wow, not sure I was expecting the product to be this good. This stuff works and the gel consistency makes it easy to use.

First time using this and I am impressed. Did a touch up on some pretty bad holster wear on a Star 9mm. Extremely easy to use and I am amazed at how fast this product works. Granted, it's not an absolutely perfect, museum finish but it is light years better than what I started with. On a scale of 0-10 as far as ease of use this gets an 11. It's literally wipe on, wipe off. Took less than 20 minutes to do the whole gun. Just touching up the worn spots. I highly recommend this.

I just started to learn how to Cold Blue and the liquid 44-40 was recommended. I bought and tried both. The gel seems to be the better. Just head the metal and brush it on. Let set and wipe off. Some fine steel wool and oil. Make a nice smooth finish and come close to matching factory finish. Clean the surface be for applying. I used disc brake cleaner.

It`s better than some products that I have used...But that said: you have to work quickly & evenly just like any other cold bluing process.I guess I expected it to be the "Magic" formula to an excellent (factory type) result...It can & could be; but at best: you`ll get very good results yet don`t expect it to be as good as a hot blue or factory finish.

This is the only blueing I use and can be applied hot or cold.
