For my Sony camera, having a dummy battery is really important because the fw50s don't last that long. and the USB connector can't actually keep up with the discharge rate, so using a USB adapter isn't sufficient through the USB connector.I like the orange color of this adapter that makes it easy for me to find in my kit bag. The dummy battery fits securely into my camera and I can get the cord through the cable feed passage on the battery door. The DTaP connector fits firmly onto my v-mount battery.Unfortunately, I don't have probes on my multimeter that are fine enough to actually check the voltage on the dummy battery, and to get in between the little fingers where the battery connectors are. So I can't verify the voltage. But it is clearly labeled, and there is a power indicator LED on the dtap connector. This is important because the same company makes multiple DTaP adapters, and some of them do not regulate voltage. The one thing I wish was a little different is that the cord could be longer. For people who are going to be mounting the v-mount battery on and exotic assembly of rails, the shorter cable is a good idea. I'm going to be mounting the v-mount on my tripod legs to get the weight off of the tripod head. So I'd like a little bit more flexibility there. But I did order this knowing what length it was. Still seems like a pretty good value.
