I've been trying new crafts lately and got intrigued with latch hooking. This is my first go at latchhooking and it is easy peasy and relaxing. I've already bought two more kits! Since starting this project, I've come to appreciate how great this kit is.First, the edges already have a binding - something that way, way more expensive kits that I looked at don't have. I'm not learning this craft to have to sew a binding on to finish the project - I just want to latchhook! So it's great that once the latchhooking is complete, the rug in this kit is finished.Second - some of the craft kits I've recently bought leave out the main implements needed to learn the craft (looking at you punch needle), but this kit comes with everything that's needed to learn and create the project, including the most important element - a latchhook. And last, but not least, I've learned that some latchhook kits don't come with cut yarn - you have to cut it yourself. Thousands of pieces at approx 2 inches each. No thanks. This kit comes with all the little bundles of precut yarn. Yay!Besides the great value, the design is nice and the paper key and grid match pretty closely. The instructions tell you to default to the grid in case of question and that's worked well for me so far (every few rows there's a deviation, but that seems standard and it's not frustrating if you follow the same method of referring to the grid. Watch a YouTube video to complement the instructions that are included and you're on your way to making a rug. Basically, wrap the yarn below the latch, put the latchhook through the grid on the horizontal weave, wrap the yarn between the hook and the latch, and pull through. This will secure the yarn to the grid. The snap on the plastic folder broke, but not a big deal. I transferred the kit into a craft box.A beginner's tip: start at the bottom and work up in the design instead of top down. This way the latchhook doesn't get caught on the row above. I highly recommend this kit for anyone interested in latchhooking.

Pattern didn't match up in some places. But once I figured ot out it came out beautifully. The wool u ise is thin and splits easy. Canvas not very sturdy

Just received my rug making kit today. This is my fifth rug making project in the last six months and it is the first canvas that has the correct amount of squares for example 80 across and 60 down. All the others for example were 78 across and 58 down. Those two squares each way make the pattern very difficult. Looking forward to this new project.

This latch hook rug is beautiful. Itβs just like the picture it came with all the colors. Everything you need for the price. It was worth it. The rug is a lot bigger than I thought.

be careful check the frame started then learned half way in some of my squares where eaten by the frame so in actuality it was crooked. so i had to get creative on parts that didnt matter and guesstimate the rest. but still turned out great and would do again. did have to scan the graph so i could blow it up on my computer screen as the one you get is way to small and hurts the eyes after a while. would be great if the graph was either two 8x10 pages or at least bigger. all in all would do again.

Should keep my wife busy for a minute or three!π Yarn is just the tiniest bit short but it works. Regardless of listing this isn't made to be a doormat or bath mat but will serve well in the artistic sense. Hook itself seems a bit lightweight but is easily replaced for a few dollars with a much sturdier model. Edges are fabric taped and sewn. Just hope she don't run out of yarn!
