I ordered this not to serve as a trash bin lid, but rather to use when we're dining family-style alfresco in the patio--to use as a cover for salad bowls. When we eat outside in the summer, it's just a matter of time before flies find the food, and this keeps our veggie, fruit or pasta salads protected from flies in between servings. It's faux (plastic-based) rattan, so it's super easy to clean and waterproof--although it looks quite realistic.I am giving it four and not five stars simply for the price point--while this lid is great quality, it's just that: a plastic lid. And it's a fairly small lid at that (definitely not as large as the photos make it look on this site) so be sure to measure before you order!

The photos representing this lid include baskets that are far too large for this lid. This lid will only fit on a fairly small basket/trash can. Fortunately, I did not just look at the photos but I measured my small trash basket in order to make sure that the lid would fit properly using the measurements provided in the description. And, yes the lid does fit well.This lid only comes in one color and my basket is dark brown and doesn't match the color of this lid which is fairly light. I went ahead and got it because I hate looking at the open trash bin I have. And, while this lid is not perfect, it works fine in my situation because you don't normally see anything but the lid. Hence, it works for me and solved my problem of an unattractive open trash bin.The lid itself is very sturdy, good looking and well made. Still, think it is overpriced at $20.00 for what it is, but I went ahead and ordered it because I really wanted to cover that open trash can with something relatively attractive, and this lid does meet that need.
