We have been using this sealer for years on different floor types. I love a shiny floor and this is the first step to having it shine brightly for months.

I applied the Stripper three times to remove all the junk from a previous tenant, then I was frugal and skipped this step, applying a liquid polish directly to the stripped floor. Big Mistake! For months, I had to clean the floor every week because it attracted so much dirt. So I stripped it one more time, and then applied two layers of this Sealer. The result is remarkable. Then I applied four layers of the Zep Polish, and the result is terrific: a solid shine and a heavy coat. Looks like it will last forever!

Our "no-wax" vinyl floor looked hopelessly grundy after years of using Mop & Glow. It really looked gross. I saw all sorts of DIY videos online, but they almost all required using a machine - just one big hassle. Instead, I bought a Libman scrub brush with a scraper, filled a spray bottle with straight ammonia, and had a bucket full of clean water and a couple of kitchen towels for rinsing as I went along. I worked square foot by square foot. First, I sprayed the surface with ammonia and let it sit for 5 minutes (not longer, you do not want it to dry). Then, I used the Libman scraper to scrape up the dirty old finish. Then I scrubbed to get off every remainder and rinsed with the dishtowels and clean water. What a difference! The floor was clean - but super dull. That's when I discovered the Zip products and their "4-step" formula. Since I had already stripped the floor of the old finish, I went to Step-2 using the Zip Stain Resistant Floor Finish and followed the instructions exactly. After just one coat, the floor already looked fantastic. The I followed up with Step-3 and Step-4. You can see by the photos how bad it was, the filthy top layer that got scraped off, and the final "new" floor. When people came in the kitchen they thought we had a brand new floor. It looks that good!

I'm unsure how critical the use of the product may be prior to applying 4 thin coats of ZPEZU0812128 - Zep High Traffic Floor Finish, however I followed the directions and put a light coat on first. It goes quite a long way. I'm still working from the first gallon on a project that involves about 2,000 sq. ft. I'll likely have about 25% of the bottle left when I've finished the project. It dries quickly, so it's possible to start applying the floor finish almost immediately after completing the application of this sealer. Paired with the aforementioned product provides a durable and extremely attractive, polished result. My tropical hardwood laminate flooring was dull and lifeless prior to applying the entire regime. As soon as the last coat dried, there was light dancing everywhere off the finished result. Highly attractive! An aside: Using the regime of one coat Sealer and four coats High Traffic Floor Finish works well, however it will prominently display any flotsam and jetsam left behind on the floor that gets embedded in the final finish. I highly recommend that you thoroughly wet mop the floor and, after dry, carefully vacuum any remaining material, such as grains of sand and (especially) hair. You'd be surprised at the amount of hair you'll find on your floors and any left behind will be quite conspicuous in the final finish result. I think it's nearly unavoidable, but you'll want to minimize it as much as possible.I like this system and I'm likely to renew the finish again in about 6 months or so. I doubt that I'll strip the floors to do that, rather will thoroughly remove all hair and debris (as above) and apply one or more coats directly on what is there. I've read reviews that suggest this method results in a very nice look when reapplied several times. I'll let you know if I have anything to add later.
