I bought this because I needed a lightweight, but quality, reel for a collapsible rod for hiking and camping. Small usually means fragile but this has held up quite well, so far. It's action is surprisingly smooth like a larger, more expensive, reel.

Most children’s rod and reel combos are crap. I bought a decent Mr Crappie rod for my son to use, and while the rod is fantastic, the reels wore out quickly. As I have good experience with the new 33s, I figured that this little reel would do the trick. Operates smoothly, casts like a dream and is easy for a 5-6 year old to handle. The line it comes with is ok. Everyone has their preferred brands, and I suggest respooling with fresh 2-4lb test sooner rather than later. These metal bodied Zebcos can take a beating, I recommend them heartily.

I can't say I've tried them all but have definitely tried quite a few low cost inexpensive spincast reels and this one lasted a LONG time and always worked great! It is great for kids but if you're an adult, like spincast reels, and have wrist issues and want to keep things as light as possible this is also a great reel for that. Only issue with this reel is the drag function. Not too hot :( But you shouldn't need it for panfish anyway so no biggie

Replaced a plastic reel on a Kids branded ugly stick combo. The previous reel was ok for play, but not a serious reel. A friend recommended a Zebco and for the price I don't see how this thing could be beat. Fits the kids rod perfectly. Casts respectable now, to the point I know I could use this setup for crappie and bluegill.The drag is plenty smooth. The bite alarm is a louder clicking noise. I was expecting kind of a jingle, this bite alarm is fine as is. I like that the Reel opens with a quick twist, rather than being threaded. Most important for the little one is that the button is easy to press in.

it’s a small reel that casts well and is pretty smooth, the “bite alarm” is a loud clicking drag and it works well. it’s easy to use and it feels pretty durable. good reel for the price

I bought this as a replacement for my son's 4' fishing pole. It works perfectly with a smooth action! So far we have caught plenty of blue gill, a few little bass and a catfish on it. Would recommend!Note: the first one I ordered literally popped apart almost immediately after I received it. Amazon quickly sent a replacement and the replacement works great!Update 11/24/24 - The reel got massively tangled up outside the spool, but inside the cover. Unfortunately this ruined a night of fishing for my son. Review updated to 4 stars.

Bu üçüncü Zebco olta makinem. Olta makinası kolu her yöne dönüyordu. Türkiye’den USA e makinayı geri gönderip, yenisini beklemek çok uzun olacaktı. Ben bir mekanikerim. Olta makinesinin içini açtığımda anti reverse rulmanının tüm yayları kırıktı. Hepsini plastik kablo klipsi ile değiştirdim. Makina harika çalışıyor. Buradan Zebco ve Amazon yetkililerine sesleniyorum; bozuk olta makinalarını bana gönderin, ben tamir ederim 😉

Got this for my 3 year old. It was a huge upgrade from the typical Spider-Man type spin caster.With 4# floro you can easily cast 1/16oz jigs a fair distance, Or worm with split shot.The gearing is nice for a slow presentation with solid gears for the price.This paired with a nice ultralight rod makes for a good back packing set up that you know will withstand a few bumps along the trail. The size is good for little hands or experienced hands. A trusted name with another quality product.
