Can’t beat Zebco for the money. Out performs more expensive reels for a fraction of the cost.

This Zebco lite weight reel are the best for pan fishing and light rods. Have purchase this reel style for 40 years and they work. The price goes up over the years, but love the reel. Happy Father's Day!!

Works fine as Zebco reels are designed to do. Only drawback is weight. Could not match-up with intended rod given weight of this “33 Max Gold” reel. Also, noticed a comment about Zebco pricing from another review and would have to agree. For $4 more, one can purchase an “Omega” which has more ball bearings, an additional ceramic pick-up and less weight.

Zebco's quality has come a long, long way from the Zebco 33 reels I used as a kid. The fit and finish of the reel is top notch. Materials are very good quality and seem quite heavy duty; nothing feels cheap or loose. Both casting and retrieving is smooth and casting distance is surprisingly long even with light weight rigs. I paired this with Shimano ultra-light rod for pan fish and I love the setup.First time out, I rigged it with a 1/64 jig with a 1 inch softbait. Second cast I got my first fish; a 20 inch Northern Pike. Not what I was expecting and was worried the rod or reel would break under the strain, but landed it and the rod and reel were no worse for the wear. I highly recommend this reel if you are looking for some fun ultra-light fishing.

It lasted two days before it falls apart from gentle use :((( I have used zebco reels for my entire life and I just cannot buy another one because I keep having to leave my fishing trips solely because the reel just disassembles itself from being used how its designed to be used. Waste of metal.

You don’t have to spend a fortune. This is an exceptional reel that will bring in a good size fish with no problem. It’s durable, easy to use, and reeling in that Catfish will be smooth and fun.

アンダースピンが好きで買いましたが、私が買った時は1万円もしなかった。機能の事を言えば1万円の価値は無い。せいぜい3千円前後。ラインは巻替えを薦めます。質が悪い。このリールを買う人はそういうリールなのだという事を確認して買う事を薦めます。

スピンキャストリールは「初心者向き」と言いますが、全くそんな事はないです。そう感じました。以下、本商品のレビューを書きます。はじめに良いところですが、・質感が良い・分解しやすいくらいですかね質感は良いです。触るとプラスチック感強めですが、値段相応だと思います。分解のしやすさも良いです。ややコツが要りますが、スピニングやベイトリールに比べるとかなり楽です。次に悪いところですが、・ラインのキャパが少ない・キャストしづらい・PEは絶対使えないの三つです。まず、ラインのキャパが少ないです。これはどこでもよく言われている事ですので、詳細は省きます。ただ、後述の欠点を考えるとかなり致命的な問題です。次に、構造上キャストするのに向いてません。ラインを挟み込んでホールドする機構なので、それを上回るパワーでキャストするとキャスト中にラインがズルズルと出てしまいます。まあ軽ーくひょいっと放り投げる感じでキャストするならいいんじゃないでしょうか。キャスト不可になるレベルではないのですが、使用感はかなり悪いです。そのせいで、スピニングやベイトリールとは違ったスピンキャストリール独自のコツが要ります。「初心者向け」と言いますが、こんなもんに慣れてしまったらむしろダメだと思います。めちゃくちゃ太いラインを巻けばホールド力が高まってスピニングリールのようにキャストできるようになるかもしれませんね(ただしラインキャパが少ないのでお勧めはしませんが)。そして、PEラインは使えません。これも色々な所で言われている事ですが、今回はあまり言われていないPEを使ってはいけない理由を書きます。一般的にはスプール上のラインが擦れる箇所との相性が悪く、すり減ってしまうと言われています。今回、いろいろ欠点が多くてダメダメだったので壊れても構わないかと思い、試しにPEを巻いた結果出てきた欠点を書きます。まず、構造上、スプールが上下に動くことが無いので、一か所にひたすらラインが巻かれていきます。そして、ある程度ラインが巻かれるとその「ラインの山」が崩れて激しいラインの食い込みが発生します。そのため、ラインの食い込みが激しいPEラインを使うと、ライントラブル頻発となります。こちらはあまり言及されているのを見たことが無いので今回参考程度に書かせていただきました。これは私の想像ですが、ここまで糸の食い込みが頻発すると、細いラインは使えないと思います。アジングなどのライトゲームも無理でしょうね。以上を踏まえると、本商品を含むスピンキャストリールの用途は・キャストする必要のない穴釣りや、ヘチ際を攻める釣り程度でしょうね。太いラインでないとキャストできない(しづらい)、しかしラインキャパは少ない。というあまりにも大きすぎる欠陥を抱えているリールです。正直、ここまで汎用性が無く、使い勝手も悪いリールがなぜ初心者向けとして知れ渡っているのかあまり意味が分かりません。初心者の方は素直にスピニングリールで始めた方が良いです。スピンキャストリールは釣り上級者の方用のおもちゃと考えた方が無難でしょう。
