Perfect for travel! Has a little cut out to hold the paintbrush in the back. You don’t need a lot of water, but you do need to put enough water on to get the paint to work (otherwise the color doesn’t really come out). So, to use you need a little bit of water in a small cup or dish and then ideally a paper towel or something to blot the excess water or when you change colors. My 3 and 4 year old kind of get how to use it but really love all the different pages to paint and it occupies them for a little bit. I recently brought to a restaurant and it was perfect!

These are on the smaller side, but I think the kids (age 6) liked the easy to paint and simplified pictures. There is a limited number of paint colors and my grandkids asked for more colors. Otherwise, great for the beginner painter.

Books are cute and love the mess free idea. The color blocks were hard to get going, my 4 year old kept saturating a block and no color would transfer to the picture, I had to scrape into the color for her but then it was too saturated to stay in the lines. And she lost interest not being able to do it herself. Unsatisfied as a parent as well when trying to help her.
