I was somewhat optimistic about this device. I have a Technics SX-PR703 digital piano that has a 3.5" floppy drive for storage. After reading various reviews/experiences from people doing a similar tech upgrade on their devices/digi piano's etc, I thought, it couldn't hurt to try it out given the price-point.Installation was cinch. I didn't have a USB thumb drive handy, so I used an external 40G HDD (with USB enclosure). The emulator was recognised by the piano, but wouldn't format the beyond 700kb; trying it at 1,44mb didn't work at all. I tried moving one of the din thingy's (names escape atm), to perhaps have the drive emulator recognised as Primary drive...if that's what position 0 means. Well, that didn't make any notable difference. Other than that, I have not spent too much time on it, so maybe on another rainy day I'll have another go.Would I recommend it? Depends on your personality type - if you're a tinkerer, go for it! If you're a plug 'n' play type, sorry, you'll be disappointed. There were no written instructions/specifications/nothing that come with this device.

I have two Yamaha keyboards, 1 static and 1 portable that had floppy disc drives. The oldest developed a fault and I upgraded to usb using these emulators. The mounting holes were an exact match for both top and side fixing. One was easy but the other was tricky as the connection layout was slightly different and the cables did not have any spare to work with. Once fitted, they worked wellSadly, Despite being a very small package, Royal Mail failed yet again to deliver on time. It sat three days in a depot and failed to go out for delivery on the due day.

A mi modo de ver el aparato es facil de instalar y funciona bien,lo que no dicen es que se necesita un formato especial para almacenar los midis, pero al escribir al vendedor, nos facilita el software, con lo cual ya lo tenemos operativo.

Fantastic product, easy to install (see philscomputerlab or other youtube videos), works great. Here's a couple pieces of information I figured out by trial and error. I am using this emulator in a Yamaha SU700 sampler. The SU700 has 68MB of RAM and supports storing data across multiple floppies. To make this emulator do that, YOU HAVE TO MOVE THE JUMPER (small plastic metal connector between 2 pins) FROM THE S1 SLOT TO THE S0 SLOT. The S1 slot configures the emulator as an ADDITIONAL floppy drive; the S0 slot configures it as a REPLACEMENT drive that will be the only "floppy drive" on your machine. This may apply to other appliances or computers on which you may be using this emulator. If you're having trouble saving to multiple virtual floppies, try it. It's easy, just get some tweezers, pull out the jumper next to where it says S1, and put it back in the S0 slot. That's what they're made for.SECONDLY, to "close out" when saving multiple virtual floppies on the emulator, YOU MUST MOVE THE COUNTER TO THE NEXT NUMBERED FLOPPY after the process is complete and before turning off the machine. This is like pressing the EJECT button before you pull out a USB drive. If you don't do this, when you try to load your saved data off the USB flash drive, you'll get an OPERATION FAILED message at the very end of the loading process.. Tip: just always click the emulator one number forward before you turn off your machine, and you'll be fine. I think of it as "closing the book" or "turning the page."BTW, I purchased the Yosoo emulator, but the one I received is marked Gotek. I don't care, it works great, and I assume everything I'm saying here applies equally to Gotek and Yosoo emulators, and that they're probably the same. Good luck and enjoy.

The unit fit PERFECTLY into my 1999 Korg Triton. Its designed to be the exact same size/footprint as an old floppy drive. Same ribbon connection and power connection...plug and play. The mounting screws fit exactly. Once I tested it, I tossed my old floppy drive in the trash. I use this drive to save the .SNG files which contain all the set up, routing, effects, and sequence data. I've sequenced several hundred songs on my Triton and am constantly needing to load these .SNG files into the keyboard to make tweaks and edits to the sequences. I'd been doing this with floppies for many years and it was a nightmare. This thing is a life saver! The product didn't really come with any instructions. It came with a mini CD that turned out to be blank. In a few seconds I was able to find everything I needed via Google. The unit itself is completely plug and play, but you'll need find some shareware software (I used something called USB Floppy Emulator v2...very easy to find) that will format a USB drive into 1.44 floppy partitions. I made 100 partitions on my 16 gig USB stick...I could probably fit 10,000 partitions on there.

Well, thanks to some of the reviews here, I got it working. It came with a mini CD, I assume that it was for the manual since the only other things it came with were screws and jumpers. Unfortunately the CD was blank. On the lighter side, I have a blank CD that I can use with my DVDRW drive to store a small amount of files on. -1.5 stars for no instructions, +.5 stars for free CD. I used this in an OmniTurn GT-75 and it works great. The only problem is during the partitioning ... since the device will only initiate partitioning during power up, the machine needs to be off, then while holding down the two buttons, turn it on. The boot will fail with a floppy error during partitioning. Power cycle after format complete. The power switch is on the front, floppy on the back - bit of a reach for 1 person. once partitioned it worked great. I bought a whole box of 2Gb flash drives and only use the first of 1000 floppies on each, eh, even at that incredible waste of space, I will probably only ever use 3 or 4 of them.

This product works well. I used a 4GB drive, which is way big but works good. A couple of things to know. First Do read the instructions. What I learned.1. I just installed it like any floppy drive.2. To setup up your USB drive properly, push and hold the 2 buttons on the Emulator down as you power on your device. Once partitioning starts you can release them.3. You will have to format each disk partition as you use them, unless you use the software included with it.4. If you want to view whats on the USB Drive, Just pull it out of the emulator and plug it into your computer. only Disk 000 will show up in explorer (This Works on windows 7 and Mac). If you want to see all the disks on the USB Drive you have to use the software that came with it.5. The actual emulator only works in systems that are meant to work with 3.5" Floppy drives.Mine is installed in a Hog 1000 light board and works great. I just save to disk 000 and take it home and can edit the libraries and such on a mac or my windows 7 system. Re-install it into the emulator and update the board. Works very well.
