I got this to put on my generator so I know what king of hours I put on it, that way I know when to change the oil. It works pretty good as far as I can tell, and was easy to install. I will likely be picking up a few more of these for other gas powered things.

This device works well, it starts counting time when sensing vibration. The resolution is 0.1 hours (six minutes), and it has a total count of hours and a “job” count of hours: the total count is whatever the device sees across all its use, and cannot be brought back to zero. The job count can be reset. A nice facility is that it allows you to set a “maintenance interval” so that the screen will alert you by flashing when a certain cumulated run duration of the machinery was reached, until you reset this and the counting starts again towards the next maintenance.The instructions are well written, brief and to the point, with good illustrations. There is a bit of confusion because they tell about turning off the screen but don’t explain anywhere how, and it is actually about setting the device to “Lock” mode that they meant. Another confusing point is that there is a table for the three sensitivities the device can be set at, and the high sensitivity is said to be for high vibrations. Should be the opposite: highest sensitivity is to detect the lower vibrations. So, I think the level of sensitivity increases with the number after “SEN” and “SEN-3” is the highest sensitivity, able to count time for the weakest level of vibration.On the downside, this device has a non-replaceable, non-rechargeable internal; battery. Weird that the instructions do disclose what kind of button cell it is, but insist it is not replaceable. Looks like a disclaimer that once opened the device is no longer sealed and weatherproof, so if you try to replace the battery it’s all on you. Otherwise, the device is good for as long as the battery holds, which the instructions sets to several years, depending on how much non-lock duration the device sees.
