This is a child's ukulele. Not meant to be a real long term instrument. The strings can be tuned. It is much smaller than your typical ukulele, great for children. I got this for my 7yo daughter, who is taller than many 7yo's, but the perfect size for her. The strings are slightly gentler on young fingers compared to regular nylon strings, but little fingers will still get sore when first learning. This is a great first instrument for someone that thinks they may want to learn a stringed instrument before committing to a more expensive one.

I bought this as a gift for my granddaughter and she loves it. It keeps her entertained for hours. The material it's made of is durable and the strings should last a long time, based on my granddaughters constant use. Light weight and easy to pop in her school backpack.

I like that it came with extra strings incase of breakage and has a real ukulele sound to it.

I was surprised by the quality of this Uke!. Also, it tunes up nicely. My 3-year old Grandson has really put it through a lot and it hasn’t broken. Still tunes and still plays. Of course, it’s a toy so it’s not going to sound as nice as a true musical instrument. Yet, it doesn’t sound bad either, better than most cheap Ukes you might find in toy stores. It comes with a simple song book too. I’d recommend keeping the box nice so you can store it in there and teach the little ones about taking care of their musical instruments. The color is nice and the plastic material is strong. The size is perfect for kids and adults. Plays like a regular Uke. I would say it has great entertainment value and would be a great addition to a toddler rhythm instrument set for playtime.

After reading the reviews I bought 2 of these for ourt grandchildren who are both 2 and a half years old. They are standing up very well . Even the grandson hasn't broken it yet, even though he uses it as a hammer sometimes! Hidden ends of the strings an added bonus.

My grandson loves when I play the ukulele so I wanted to get him one. I leaned toward getting him a real ukulele but was aware of the problems with that idea. First, a real uke needs to be kept in tune. Second a wooden uke is delicate and most are too big for him. After reading the reviews for this toy uke, I realized that it was the best choice. It is inexpensive so no one is agonizing over how he is treating it. Let's face it little kids can be rough. He loves to turn the tuners so it is never in tune and can't really stayed tuned even if you try. He has banged it around and dragged it across the floor. He's just a normal little boy who drops things and bangs them around. This uke is plastic and can take a beating. The most important part is that he loves it. He takes it with him everywhere and loves that he can make sounds with it. He is not looking to play beautiful music or maybe it sounds beautiful to him (it's not loud or unpleasant). He's just having fun which is what it's all about. When the adults take out their ukes, he get his and he like to place it next to my uke when I put it down.If your child is ready to really learn to play a ukulele, then get him or her a real uke. If they just want to have fun, this uke is fantastic. The most fun I ever bought for $20.

I wasn’t sure what to look for in a guitar for my two year old. He is only starting to speak- but made it very clear that he wanted a guitar - and we started really working on him speaking that word. When he finally said it- and then continually pointed out pictures and puzzles that had a guitar- we decided to get him one. I liked that you can tune the strings and it seems to be durable- as we’ve had it for two weeks and my child takes it everywhere, drops it from to time- and it is stillWorking and looks new. Wish the carrying strap was more like real guitars-that is my only negative feedback. Great product!

This plastic ukulele is very good for a 2.5 year old. It seems to be solidly built, and it is nice that the strings really can be tuned, at least for a while. (Good to show kids how a music instrument works.) And our grandchild was really so pleased to get it. So, the instrument itself would get 4 stars. The negatives: 1. The "strap" that came with it does not work with the instrument at all. It is a black strap with a strange hook on one end, and the strap doesn't fit or attach anywhere onto the ukulele. Several of us looked at the strap, including some engineers, and tried our best to figure out how it might attach, but it doesn't work with the instrument at all. And that is a big negative, because the grandchild can't really stand up and hold the uke and strum it, all at the same time.2. The "instruction" booklet that came with the ukulele is by far the sloppiest translation from another language that we've ever seen. It was incomprehensible, to the point of being hilarious. So, big negative on that. Not that a 2 year old would care, but the older kids and adults were interested and would have made use of it if it were of decent quality.
