I bought the guitar for my 3 year old great grandson. He was so excited and immediately began strumming. Well worth the cost.

I knew it wasn't going to play like an expensive mini guitar but I at least thought you could semi tune the strings since it had locking keys on the back. They string do feel real like the ad says and it will make noise but don't expect any kind of music. It's really just a toy. If you are just buying a toy then sure but if you expect functionality you need to get something else. It looks great and has a great color and design but that about it.

Purchased this for Christmas for my 3 yo. So far she has loved it and has had tons of fun with it so far. This is replacing a handmade wooden guitar that she got as a gift about a year ago, unfortunately the wooden one fell apart quite easily, but my daughter is quite taken with guitars. So far we've only had it a few days, but it does feel much more able to handle the rough antics of a 3 yo. Will update if anything changes.

Bad quality product, why to make such a product

The guitar seems to be caught somewhere between real, cheap guitar and a toy. The guitar’s body is a durable plastic, fantastic for a young child that might not be gentle with it. Then it confuses you by having real guitar strings that do adjust for tuning purposes. The problem here is that only 1 string can actually be properly tuned. 3 others can be tightened, but as soon as you strum them they unravel. The remaining 2 strings unravel as soon as you let go of the tuning pegs.If it’s a toy have a nylon or plastic “string” and don’t make the tuning pegs functional. If it’s meant to be a beginners guitar then make ALL the tuning pegs function. It would be worth it to spend a smidge more on it and have the tuning pegs work. For my purposes, this is fine for a 3 year as long as he’s supervised. I don’t want him hurting himself by snapping a guitar string. At this point he’s more interested in hiding small objects inside the guitar. But if he actually wants to learn anything I’ll be getting him a different one.

First off, this is not a real guitar, so do not expect anything sounding like a real guitar. It is lightweight and does not sound like a real thing. However, it looks really, really good. It's appearance is very impressive for what it is and the price. It has great coloring, shine and overall looks like a real guitar, albeit much smaller. You can tune the strings fairly easily by turning the knobs and it does change the sound of the strings. I am not a musician so I am not able to tune it properly, but I know enough about music to know you could probably get it close if you had a music ear. With that said, it likely will not hold the tune very long. But hey, its for kids and its a toy. If you want a real guitar, this is not the one. This is a toy and a great looking one at that. I haven't tried it, but I would think you could outfit it with real guitar strings and you may be able to get some decent sound. Maybe a good DIY project for a guitarist who knows what they're doing. Anyway, our 4yr old son enjoys it and we've had a few jam sessions with his toy drums.
