About this item

  • 1/4 MILE EXTREME LONG RANGE, thanks to our unique LoRa-based wireless system. LoRa, short for Long Range is a new technology, superior to WiFi and older RF types, in range and obstruction-penetration. Capable of covering multiple floors, as well as multiple buildings on large properties.
  • THAT WAS EASY! Be up and running in minutes, with the Hub's convenient Plug, Plug & Play setup, and our super-fast Scan & Play QR code-scanning method of adding devices to the app. The Motion Sensor installs in moments and requires no tools, thanks to the built-in magnet. Mount the sensor directly to any metal surface, or use the included metal disc and 3M brand mounting tape. Couldn't be easier!
  • DOUBLE-DUTY! Your YoLink Motion Sensor can be configured to automate lighting while you are home, and protect against intrusion while you are away! Add Door Sensors, a Siren Alarm, and control your system from the app or use one of our smart fobs to arm and disarm your security system. Add one of our light switches and use the motion sensor to turn on lights when you enter the room, and turn them off later if no motion is detected.
  • KNOW NOW! You have many options for being notified of device activity! Receive a text, receive an email, receive a phone push notification (including Apple phone "Critical Alert" severe weather/Amber alert type notifications that will activate your phone even if in silent mode. Android phones offer similar functionality, depending on phone manufacturer). SMS messages are limited to the total of 5 times each device plus 5. A hub and two motion sensors provides you with 20 free SMS per month.
  • NO WIFI WORRIES! Many smart home products are WiFi-based, which appears convenient, but each WiFi device on your network is a security risk (a way for hackers to get into your home network). Not to mention, as you add more devices, your WiFi gets bogged down. YoLink devices do NOT connect to your WiFi, they connect only to the Hub, which connects them to the cloud.
  • NO INTERNET, NO POWER, NO PROBLEM! Our unique Control-D2D device-to-device pairing allows for creating links between devices, so that they will operate when needed, even if the internet and power is down! Consider pairing your Motion Sensors to one or more of our Siren Alarms (search ASIN# B0887SMPKK)
  • START SMART! A YoLink hub is REQUIRED for full functionality, including for the app to work, but your hub is compatible with a growing family of smart products for home and business! Search for B09FSS95G9 for a SpeakerHub (our audio, talking hub) or B07TQLKQLJ for the original Hub.

I bought this to make my own driveway alarm. I mounted it on the mailbox post and pointed it across the top of the driveway. It easily broadcasts 100' down the driveway and into the house. I added the device to my Alexa and have an audible announcement "Someone is in your driveway" when the sensor is triggered. The only problem I have is that the sensitivity adjustments don't seem to impact the way it triggers. It can get set off by a cat or deer or car. It's useful enough that this is a minor inconvenience.Note: This device requires the use of their hub, so yet another hub you have to find a place to plug in. I really wish that wasn't a requirement, but it is what it is.

I'm using this connected to my YoLink Hub exactly 1000' feet away from my house connected to Starlink wifi and whole home ethernet in difficult rocky Colorado mountain terrain. Incredible alert range. I'm impressed! So useful. Stop clicking, this is the long range driveway alert sensor and YoLink Hub system to get. Wish I knew about YoLink devices years ago. Thank you!

When coupled to the Hub it works great. Reasonable good instruction manuals. Easy to pair to Hub but must have the Hub to function at all. Excellent Customer Service! Well worth the investment in knowing when an unexpected someone comes up your driveway!

They worked very good. They are prop 400-500 feet away from the router so they are nice to place around the yard. Wry happy with them.

I installed this in my garage by the door into the house. Works great when walking from the house to the garage, but coming in from garage door, you have to be almost under it to set it off. I was hoping that it would be good for both ways, but I will have to get another one for coming in through the garage door. Liked that it came with double sided mounting tape. I just fastened it to a steel joist hanger on the bottom side. No problems with connection to the hub where I have had wifi connection problems with other devices from this location to the router. FYI, I use this with a routine to automatically turn lights on.

I have been using YoLink products for 4 years now. This is another great product of theirs. Simple to install, great battery life and does a great job of what it’s supposed to do. Best thing is the long range. No more worrying about whether your Wi-Fi signal is going to be strong enough, YoLink products use LORA, which is a low frequency, long range radio wave system that gives up to 1/4 mile range. I have YoLink sensors as far as 800’ from my hub and no problem. With the 40 or so YoLink sensors I have, I’ve had to deal with YoLink tech support a few times and have always found them to be over-the-top excellent in their response, even going so far as to send me replacements as long as several years after my purchase. I’m an electrical engineer with a specialty in digital communication and I design radio frequency communication products among other things. I have nothing but good things to say about YoLink products and support.

Extremely easy setup and very fast response time. Works great with alexa. I really love Yolink devices, only complaint is they seem to be getting expensive but I guess everything is going up in price.

Over all, I really like this motion sensor. I have been waiting a while for a company to make an outside motion sensor that works with Alexa. At the beginning of 2021, I did suggest this to Yolinks in their feedback section. Yolink seems to be very open to feedback. What I like/PROS about this motion sensior.1) How small it is compared to other outside motion sensors on the market. Much easier to place in location where it is not as noticeable.2) Like all Yolink devices, this device is extremely easy to setup. In the app, tap the scan icon, scan the QR, tap bind, your done.3) The Yolink app is extremely user-friendly. The designers and programmers must actually be using the app and Yolink devices. In the app, it is very easy to rename the Yolink device to what is convenient and/or useful to you. Device settings are easily changed, tap the device icon, then select setting. No hunting and digging around in four or five deep menus, trying to find something that is hidden under some obscure label/name.4) Another very nice thing that the Yolink app and Alexa skill does is, any new Yolink device scanned is automaticall added to Alexa's device list. No need to have Alexa scan for new devices before you can start setting up routines in Alexa.5) Another great feature is that when a sensor sends a notice to your phone, it also includes the battery status. No more guessing if batteries are low. You can also see this within the app by selecting the device, then settings where you can see the battery level.6) This is more about the Yolink hub that the sensors connect to. If the sensors are controlling other Yolink devices such as wall switches, electrical plugs/outlets or even setting off the Yolink alarm siren, It does NOT need internet connectivity. Yolink devices communicate to each other via the Yolink hub. This interaction is almost instant. Internet access is needed to communicate with Alexa and other none Yolink devices an to be able to sent notifications to your phone. At this time, I cannot rate the battery life. Only been using the outside motion sensors for four days (as of 05/31/21). If they are like the other Yolink devices, the battery life should be very good.Currently I have one of these sensor for my driveway. If it detects motion, I get notified on my phone and I have a routine in Alexa setup to make an announcement on all echo speakers. Love this feature. I also setup one for my side door, doing similar things. If you have kids playing in the yard, you might want to set times when different sensors are active and when they are not.At night, I am testing how good these sensor and the Alexa Yolink skill is at turning on different exterior lights, when motion is detected. The only concerned I have, it is not really a CON at this time.1) The small mounting bracket, will it hold up to Florida weather? Only time will tell. At this time, I cannot reduce the rating because I do not know how strong the mounting bracket is.This maybe a CON for some, not for me.1) The mounting bracket only has vertical movement/adjustment, no horizontal adjustment at all. Not an issue for me, but might be for some. These motion sensors are replacing existing sensor around my home. The driveway sensor, a weather/rain hood is already installed and pointing in the correct direction. The other one, like other outdoor sensors I have, are mounted under the house/roof eaves for some protection, on mounts I have already designed and pointed in the desired direction. So far, these new Yolink outdoor motion sensors are working out much better than I expected. I have two more on order (05/30/21) for my front and back doors. Only time will tell if they will holdup to normal Florida weather.I will update if my option changes.

We have tested various devices for a few weeks. I have to say that we are very pleased. The first thing we noticed when unpackaging was that everything seem to be designed and made with attention to detail and care. That was a little surprising for us. Many times you get cheap packaging and apps that look like they were created in a single afternoon. Not so in this case. We had to double check to verify that this is a start up company. By all outward indications, it feels like it’s a well polished company that has been in business for quite some time. All manuals and set up information is available online. Do not expect much in the box. We had a little difficulty finding the information we needed at first but we were grateful, and still are, for the fast response from the company.Since we mentioned the company, we have to note that any kind of support request is answered promptly, even at odd hours of the night. That was surprising. But they have always been friendly and helpful, even when we should have checked product documentation first. The initial set up was a little challenging with Wi-Fi. But that is not due to product limitations. It is due to limitations on the wireless routers we used. The wireless routers we used did not allow us to separate the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks. This system uses the 2.4 GHz network, which is needed in order to have the range. In the end, which simply hooked up the network hub to the router using the provided ethernet cable. Everything has been pretty much smooth sailing. Again. The system requires a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. If you have trouble getting it to connect wirelessly, the issue is almost certainly your wireless router failing to separate the two networks or failing to allow the device onto the 2.4 GHz only. It’s not a product limitation or defect. Our recommendation is just to hook it up with the ethernet cable since the range is very long, anyway. Before using the system, we recommend updating the firmware on all devices manually. Depending upon how long it has been sitting in the Amazon warehouse, you may have an older version of firmware and might experience a few bugs. That was our case. We had a few problems with erroneous notifications that were rectified as soon as the firmware updated. The update, you find the firmware version in the device and tap it. The firmware does update automatically. But if it’s your first time setting up, it’s good to manually update the devices. We would love to see a way in the app to review the firmware status of all devices on one screen and manually trigger a firmware update for all devices from that same screen with a single click. But this is merely a want, not a flaw.Do not forget to edit the alarm strategy before you start using the system. It appears to default in the app to multiple strategies, which can mean getting an app notification, an email notification, and or text message notification each time something is opened or motion is detected. That might be something to look into on the app development side as far as prompting you during set up to choose your desired preferences. We have had no difficulties with the devices maintaining contact with the network hub. The network hub has reported itself going offline once or twice overnight, but this appears to be momentary and related to a firmware update automatically applying and automatically rebooting the device.Battery life so far appears to be really good.We are surprised by the quality of the 3M self adhesive tape on each one. There is no alcohol wipes provided, but we used simple rubbing alcohol and a cloth to clean the surfaces prior to sticking the devices on. You can do similar or just make sure that it’s really clean. As a test, we applied some of the devices to a surface that was not prepared/cleaned ahead of time. those devices have no problem sticking to the surface and have not fallen down. They appear to be well secured when we try to tug on them.We would love to see the adhesive strips offered as a replacement item for purchase. We can see down the road people moving devices around, say if they’ve changed their minds about location or if they move. We had also thought about having an extra mount for the motion sensor so we could move the motion sensor between different locations at different times. This was because we were only able to buy a limited quantity due to inventory at that time. But that is something that others might be interested in purchasing at a later date. The motion sensors have been updated to include sensitivity adjustment. They can be pretty sensitive, detecting slight movement even in the dark. We have no complaints. The range and spread appear to be great. The door/window sensor performs equally well. it can be mounted in virtually any orientation and still function so long as the sensor portion of each piece is within about 1/2 of an inch to the other. so you could even mount one of them at a 90° angle to the other. So long as they are within that distance to each other, they still function perfectly. We found this to be necessary with one door where we had a proper clearance on the door but did not have proper clearance on the frame. The products integrate seamlessly with IFTTT.We would love if the temperature/humidity sensor had the option to show more frequently than one hour on the history graph in the app. But the graph is clean, uncluttered and easy to read.We will soon be testing additional products. We are adding additional door sensors and motion sensors to the system, which will then have approximately 20 devices connected. We are also going to be testing for the first time the garage door motion sensor (ordered). We were originally going to test the motion sensor/ garage door opener combo, but none of the garage door openers we have available appear to be compatible. Afterwards, we will test additional devices on our “wish list.“We have found zero indication of user data tracking, analytics tracking, or communication with ad servers on the app. It really does appear to be simply designed to do what it is supposed to do and nothing more. It’s refreshing. So to summarize, we can’t really find anything wrong. We have struggled to find anything to critique with the devices or the app. Everything works as intended and we are extremely pleased.
