Based on reviews on quality of sound on the other models, I decided to purchase this one since it has 20 sound options. My husband used it on a vacation with 4 of his friends and he said it was a life saver! Great sound and covered up the snoring! It's also a perfect travel size and not cumbersome to bring along. Our kids use sound machines in their rooms at night so we will be bringing this on every family vacation from now on.

We bought this in 2019 and love it. We use it when we travel, and more recently after having another baby. The battery won’t last a full 8 hours if the volume is cranked up, but if you keep the volume low it does. There are several different sounds too. Great gadget for the price! Definitely recommend.

This white noise machine is compact and easy to travel with. It has a variety of nature sounds and white noise sounds. I would not purchase this again as there are rhythmic tones that are apparent on all white noise settings and are difficult to ignore.

I bought this product in mid February, they are broken by beginning of May.I plug it in, press the power button, will not turn on. I try pressing buttons in combinations to try some sort of reboot, no luck. I leave them uncharged for a day, press power, nothing, plug it in, try again, nothing. This is unfortunately a waste of my money. I bought a similar one 2 years ago and it still works no problem. I hope the manufacturer will replace the ones I bought, because I am willing to try again. Otherwise I’d strongly suggest buying a different product.Amazon customer services provided a link to contact the manufacturer and when I click on it my firewalls pop on saying it is an unsafe site trying to impersonate a different site. really unhappy with this purchase and experience with customer service.

I honestly was iffy on using a sound machine with our daughter and decided not to bother. We wound up taking a newborn sleep class that recommended one and after learning that it’s easy to wean baby off the sound machine (I was nervous we’d create a fussy sleeper), we decided to give it a shot. We’ve been using it for three months now and love it. I’m also happy to say if I forget to charge it or accidentally leave it home while we are out, she can still sleep just fine. But this is great just to drown out background noise to help her fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer. I personally like no sound and light while I’m sleeping but we still have her in a bassinet in our room and this doesn’t bother me at all. I honestly chose the Rohm for the reviews and, maybe even more so, for it’s look. I preferred the white which is why I didn’t get the baby version. It’s small and chic to look at and love that we can use it as she gets older or even for ourselves down the road (as I could see this coming in handy for traveling) and it doesn’t scream “baby gear”. Love the little string that allows me to easily attach this to the stroller, car seat or diaper bag. At night, we typically just set this on the nightstand or even near her feet in the bassinet (every once and awhile she’ll kick it just right and switch the type of sound that’s playing but that causes no harm and makes us laugh while she still sleeps away). There are only 4 buttons so it’s easy to turn off, control the volume or switch the sounds while juggling the baby in one hand and is simple for grandparents or sitters to figure out right away too. It fits in the palm of your hand so takes up hardly any real estate in the diaper bag while traveling. It easily lasts through the night and into daytime naps on one charge. I tend to pop it on the charger daily just because. I really love that it has a USB charger (I just use the plug-in from my iPhone) instead of batteries! I would definitely recommend this to anyone with a baby/toddler, someone who travels or even a college student (this would have come in handy in the dorms/college apartments). The quality is obvious and I feel like it’s honestly already laid for itself and we plan on using it for a long while. New parents, treat yourself to this or register for it! Or if you have new parents in your life, this would make a great gift.

Back in the old days, when I lived in Austin, Texas, and not everyone had air conditioning (it was a LONG time ago), I slept with a fan in the window to try and keep cool at night. It helped ever so slightly. But the interesting result was that the sound of the fan drowned out the sound of the neighborhood, thereby decreasing the incidence of noise intrusion into my sleep. I found that even after I actually HAD air conditioning, I missed the sound of the fan. First I used a tower-type air purifier type thing thinking at least that would be DOING something besides making noise, but that unit became another thing to take care of, cleaning the filter, dusting it, and moving it out of the way when I had company. I happened across the Marpac noise machines and started using those. LOVE THEM, but they didn't provide much in the way of controls - and they were LOUD. They eventually made a smaller "travel" model, with various international plugs and dual voltage, which I purchased and took with me all over the world. These had better volume controls and the ability to change the type of sounds (rain, waves, etc.) Ah ha, hotels now became more bearable: No more elevator pings, less chatter from the neighbors and less hallway interference. Then, I accidentally forgot to change my plug adapter from a foreign trip for a US trip. Shocking. I had to sleep au naturel. It drove me crazy, so I got out the next day and went to a Best Buy store. They don't really sell over the counter white noise machines. So I purchased a small, portable baby sleep machine, which I still take with me for travel because it operates on 3 AAA batteries so I don't need to charge it. But when I got home, I went back online to Marpac and found they made a smaller version of my old sleep noise machine with fewer bells and whistles. It is MUCH smaller than the old one I used to bring with me on trips, and is also much quieter. Yet somehow, it works very well. I'm sleeping as well as ever, but can't sleep without it. So between the portable battery operated one and the USB charged one - I am sleeping like a baby - at home and abroad. LOVE these machines and recommend them to everyone who is sleep challenged. Could just be the ambient noise in your room/house/hotel that's keeping you awake. But, beware, it's habit forming.
