This guitar sounds good. Needed some set-up as tuning goes, and the truss rod needed minor adjustment. Playing at the head frets the E string was vibrating on the 1st and 2nd fret. Adjusted trus rod and now sounds good. Good buy!

This product purchase was kind of in the blind since I bought this guitar for my nephew. I did not know whether he would like it or want it. As it turns out, he was excited and he is practicing as a beginner with an experienced musician to learn the instrument. He pledges to be one of the best. The color and craftmanship is really great for this Bass guitar. The price was a great deal. Thanks.K.R.

The Good, the Bad, and the Obvious. First the Obvious: if you want a quality, well crafted instrument - don't get something that's only $100! Now the Good (its the short part): For a little over $100 you get an acoustic bass, a decent padded gigbag, a tuner, a guitar strap that's actually long enough for an adult. The bass did in fact function out of the box. It was 'playable,' and the pickup and electronics 'worked.' Wadaya want for $100?OK, now the Bad: The strings were misaligned with the neck. That was because the bridge had been mounted on the body top piece in the wrong location. 1st string (G) was aligned with the very bottom of the frets. 3rd string (A) was right over the inlay dots in the middle of the fretboard. And the strings were about 1/2" - 3/4" off the fretboard at the 12th fret. Pretty bad stuff. And while the pickup and electronics 'worked,' the pickup had a big dead zone. the 4th (E) and 3rd (A) strings sounded OK, but the 2nd and 1st strings were dead. Also, the frets are very sketchy - rough and sharp on the edges. very poor fret installation.Other than that, its not bad. You can play the droning, thumping bass line to SmokeOnTheWater with it just fine.Bottom line - if you're buying for a beginner, get something else. If you want something you can play straight out of the box, get something else. But if you don't mind doing some work (in this case, a LOT of work) on it, its not a bad deal. I'm keeping it. The bridge and saddle need a lot of work. And its getting a new pickup. For me, its OK.

This Acoustic Bass guitar is very bad quality. The 2nd fret on the G chord would not play a clean note. Also the guitar would not tune despite trying six times. The price was great so I took a chance on this but the old saying is true.... you get what you pay for. Don't waste your money.

I've been playing bass about fifteen years, I bought this for my eight year old so he could play something other than my more expensive instruments. To be honest, I was surprised how nice it is. The intonation is set pretty well, the action is about as low as it can be without fret buzz, and it sounds decent plugged into an amp. The gig bag, straps, and tuner were welcomed accessories. I was even surprised how nice it looked. Don't eat me wrong, it's a cheap guitar, and it's not heirloom quality fit and finish. But, it is much, MUCH nicer than what I ever expected to be in pretty much every way. My kid loves it, and I didn't have to spend a small fortune for a playable instrument. Hard to beat that kind of value

WOW! What an awesome deal! I'm sure there are people out there that will nitpick on some of the details. And I'm sure if you buy something for 3 or 4 times the price you'll get something more solid/proffessional grade. But if you want a spare to take out and about or leave at home to practice, this absolutely does the trick! You may want to change strings, but it's not necessary. Easy to tune, holds tune well, action was fine out of the box. Literally no complaints. Full disclosure, I haven't plugged it in yet so don't know how it sounds amp'ed, but that not what I bought it for, so wouldn't effect my rating either way.
