Red block works fine for the price. Arrived in perfect shape, but the blue block arrived damaged with what appears to be a crack along one edge that has been fused together.

Not sure how this sounds on a drum set but comes through loud and clear in the stands at the football game!

Perfect low tone block sound. Has no problem shining through the mix when you're jamming out, but can be quiet when using it in place of a rim knock (which was the initial reason for purchase).You can buy a stand for it, or put it on your high hat, or even tighten it onto a cymbal stand.Would recommend getting the matching blocks.

I haven't compared this side by side with the more common red block that costs twice as much, but to my ears it's got a very usable tone and is well built. I bought a real wooden (Pearl) block as well, and while that does have a slightly warmer and lower tone, this one cuts through a loud kit much better.
