Wanted to like this, did like it before it fell apart. Went with ceramic because I was tired of my gourds always ending up cracking at some point., but low and behold I have the same issue on my hands. Looks great, but as other reviewers note you can see the glue in between the wood/ceramic interface. Within a few weeks the wood base fell off, now its just a pain and need to purchase something else again. Was only handwashing daily.

I'm new to using yerba mate so I was excited to try this cup. It comes with the straw which also acts as a strainer. It did not come with instructions so I looked that up online. Everything works as expected. I wasn't sure about the straw but it works well. Do not put the mug in the dishwasher. The bottom is glued and it came off but I was a ble to glue it back on. I will say, its a bit more hassle that I like so I use teabags most of the time. But if you want to drink the tea the traditional way, this mug works great.

I got this because I needed an at home mate gourd and I live in a place where the natural ones tend to get moldy very quickly. I liked the idea of a ceramic one and loved the vibrant color of this. This has been a good mate mug and worked well for me so far.Positive aspects:- This has a good capacity and holds enough mate for me to get a couple of rounds of morning tea- The wooden bottom insulates the base really well.- The slope to the side of the mug make it easier to get all of the liquid out because the straw sits down deep enough in the cup- Despite looking and feeling a little flimsy, the straw works really well, I didn’t get any clogging issues or any leaf material in my mouth. I only wish that I could take off the head for cleaningNegatives i have noticed:- There is a weird rough patch on the wooden base and a line running through it that looks like it was glued together from two separate pieces of wood. Makes me doubt the longevity I can expect from this.- The glue that was used to attach the top to the base is showing and I don't know if it will hold because it can get damp inside of the gap.I like this a lot, it has good capacity and it works well for my purposes. It has a few parts that could be better, but it is still good and I am happy to have it.

This is a really attractive well made mate cup and bombilla. The cup is ceramic, perfect size and shape for mate. The cup sits inside a wooden bottom section. The ceramic and the wood are both very well finished. The bombilla is nice, it has small holes to filter out the mate leaves. I have other bombillas that are bigger and fancier but this one goes with the cup very well.I brewed the first cup of mate in it this morning and I can say it's a great cup to drink mate out of. Size just right and it looks really nice.. I have a mate cup made out of hollowed out gourd, they are nice but require care that they don't get fungus etc.

We ordered the LGQ Yerba Mate Cup after enjoying some store-bought Yerba Mate and wanting to try a more traditional preparation method. While we realized we’re not big fans of warm, unflavored Yerba Mate, this cup still impressed us and might find a second life for other teas.First off, the color is absolutely beautiful in person—vibrant and eye-catching without being too flashy. The size is just right, not too big or small, making it perfect for a single serving. The included straw (or bombilla) does a good job of filtering out most of the leaves, but some smaller pieces still made it through, which might be a dealbreaker for those who are very particular.Even though Yerba Mate didn’t win us over in this style, the cup itself feels versatile, and we’re planning to try it with other teas soon. Overall, the LGQ Yerba Mate Cup is a solid choice for those looking to explore Yerba Mate or for tea lovers wanting a unique and beautiful drinking vessel.
