I thought I was buying a telescopic thread guide. There was no telescopic rod, just a thread guide to sit on top of a telescopic rod.

I am saving a White Superlock 534 Serger from the scrapyard. What a fine machine! Built by Jaguar car company in Tokyo, Japan in the early 70's, all cast aluminum with some plastic trim. The stand holding this thread holder was broken and this piece was lost. So I bought a plastic welder from Amazon and rebuilt the missing piece of plastic on that holder, sanded it down, drilled a hole for this pole, painted the plastic a maching color, and will be adding this pole to it. Not sure if it glues in place or screws in place, but I will find a way. If yours is intact, no issues, just pop this pole in.The pole telescopes so it comes down to serger height to be put away in its case. All the thread holders are like original, not much difference. A very nice replacement. Be confident in your purchase. This should work for any serger, vintage or modern. The stand is the same.

I had the idea to have a thread stand that incorporated the ability to hold a few of my most used cross-wound threads (for my vintage machines) and to also offer some storage. I found this thread stand as a starting point and rest was designed around it. My husband made my vision come to life, it's mostly 3D printed and the base and riser are of robust metal that keeps it in place and doesn't tip over. So thrilled with the results, it takes up a very small footprint, is easy for me to see (other thread stands sit behind the machine and out of my line of sight) and it keeps all the little tools organized along the edge with recessed magnets. Couldn't be happier. ❤

This telescopic thread guide is very adaptable, making it easy to use. It's well made and fairly sturdy. It collapses so makes storing much easier.
