Using to clear up yellowy brown algae along with shock it. But too early to tell if it’s going to work. Will add to this review after I give it some time to work.

I followed the instructions on the container and this product completely removed the mustard algae from our pool. I would definitely recommend it.

A hose on our pool became disconnected while we were on vacation leading to a dark green pool when we got home. After shocking, it went from dark green to light green, however despite following all of the pool store recommendations (lots of chlorine both at high levels and for prolonged periods and algecide guaranteed to cover all forms of algae) we saw no further improvements. I researched and came to believe we likely had mustard algae - our pool store insisted that mustard algae almost never grows this far north (Wisconsin). I decided that I had nothing to lose by trying this anyways and within 24 hours the green was completely cleared!

I went on a vacation and my pool person had a medical emergency, no one touched the pool for 6 days. I have a huge tree over the pool, and live in AZ, temps were 110 every day. When I returned, around noon,The Pool had thousands of leaves in it, I could not see bottom, water was an iridescent green. Pretty much the nightmare I expected. But I had my secret weapon ready. I got out all the leaves I could, added 1.4 lbs of yellow out (distributed across the pools service). Let pump run at full for 5m, added 2lbs shock and went inside (trying not to look at my poor pool). By 5pm I could see the bottom, it still had a green tinge to it. I got in and got all leaves off the bottom (took over an hour). But now it was really looking better. I let pump run over night. Next morning clear water, still a little green but what a difference. I back washed about noon. Added clarifier and another pound of shock. By 5pm it was 99% perfect. I felt so much better. This stuff is like an alge eraser when used with shock. I try to always keep it on hand, just in case a problem arises.

Great product! Helped us FINALLY kill the mustard algae we have had in pool for years. Helps the chlorine work better. Great price! It is twice this at the store! Water is cloudy after so a clarifier is needed but very happy with how it killed the algae. For our large pool that is 40/20 and 10 feet in deep end we used all four pounds of yellow out.

This past summer here in the south brought a lot of flare ups on algae. We used Yellow Out but ended up using Bioguard shock (non bleaching for our vinyl pool liner) to get "on top" of the problem and then the Yellow Out to follow. We know the yellow out brand from previous usage over the years and we purchased from this seller because of the price.

I was dumping hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of dollars of chlorine into my pool trying to clear it. One bottle of this and it’s been clear now for six weeks! It’s like a miracle in a bottle! Highly highly recommend it to clear your mustard algae!

The yellow algae are gone after one treatment while following the instructions. I could not figure out when to brush the pool from the instructions, and I waited until after the second round of chlorine shock. After the third round of shock in 24-hours, the yellow never came back. I left the sand filter on continuously, and back flowed it numerous times. After the treatment, the pool was cloudy with high combined chlorine and phosphates. I treated for combined chlorine first with non-chlorine shock, and then for phosphates (then for PH.) Now my above-ground vinyl pool is fine. Get a Taylor FAS test kit (K-2006) before you start this process and learn how to use it!I wonder if simply following the instructions for three heavy shock treatments within 24 hours would have solved the problem without this product. Prior heavy shocking with chlorine alone did not work, but I did not try three times in 24 hours. I suspect I will never know, I have plenty of this stuff left to use again if the yellow returns.
