Got my Xlink BT HD and am very pleased with it. Simple hook up and works exactly as advertised. My cell phone connected via bluetooth right away, and audio is excellent; clear and strong. Now when I'm home, my cell phone calls are routed through my antique rotary phones (see pics - I swap them out now and then); love hearing them ring and it's a gas using them for their intended purpose: communication.Great product, good price, highly recommended.

This is great! Easy to use! Now my cell phone functions as both a cell phone and a virtual landline! My cell phone connects to this via Bluetooth, which connects to four phone extensions in my house that used to be connected to landline. But my four phone extensions now appear to be landlines, when in reality, they are connected to my cell phone. But you would never know it. My house phones virtually act exactly as they had before when they used to be connected to landline. Here's what I like:1) cell phone is always plugged in and charged (80% charged for battery protection)2) no need to remember to charge cell, it's always plugged in3) I rarely have to touch my cell phone, unless I leave the house4) Can still take my cell phone with me if I leave the house5) Caller ID transfers from cell phone to house phone displays6) don't need to worry about dropping or losing cell phone7) one house phone has its answer machine turned on8) during power outage, cell phone (at 80% charge) still works, while house extensions are deadCaveats:1) be sure to have cell phone battery protection set to 80%2) house phone answer machine picks up first if # of rings is set to less than cell3) house phones will be dead when cell phone leaves the house4) cell phone answer service will work when outside of the house5) house phone answer machine will not work while cell phone is not in the house6) caller ID usually only displays phone # (not the name, unless name is saved)7) caller ID will display names on house phones of those saved in cell phone contacts listSo this is the best of both worlds! It allows my house phones to function as landline most of the time, but I can also take my cell phone with me when I leave the house.

This XLINK HD product worked right out of the box. I thought we would need to find an installation manual to install it, but it turns out that there is almost nothing to do (you follow a very simple installation description which comes with the phone.) This XLINK HD works well with good voice quality with our up-to-date cordless multi-handset phone system -- our "housephone handset system". And the XLINK also works with a very old ATT pulse phone. Background:A while ago, we moved our landline number to a cell phone (because of poor landline provider support). We had expected to use the new cell-phone with our housephone handsets. This multi-handset product was supposed to work with cell-phones over bluetooth. This did work sometimes, but it was unreliable. After several weeks of attempting to make it reliable, we gave up and just used the new housephone cell-phone by itself. But, when I saw the XLINK product details, I decided to give it a try -- to connect our housephone handsets to the new cell-phone with our former landline number. The XLINK product immediately worked! Reliably! The house multi-handset product now functions just as it would with a landline (it doesn't know it is not connected to a landline). And the home answering machine is now back in service (but you need to adjust the number of rings so that the answering machine will answer before the cellphone goes to voice-mail).Finally, you can also use the cell-phone directly to make or receive a call if you choose, without disrupting the XLINK set-up. You can even take the cell-phone away from the house, and when you come back the XLINK will automatically reestablish the setup. There are 2 buttons on the XLINK BT/HD. The leftmost button establishes the bluetooth connection. The rightmost button is only used if you want to upgrade the software on the XLINK device.

So I have a criteria that I want- a permanent home phone number that's different from my personal cell phone- don't want to use VoIP solution because my Internet connection isn't always reliable- reasonable cost which is cheaper than a landlineSo I decided to get one of these. I have a older cell phone which I'm not using and so I bought one of Freedom Mobile's $99 Prepaid 12 month plan. That lets me have a talk-plan with incoming-texts for under $9 a month. I keep it permanently plugged into the charger (I have a outlet timer that turns on the charger every night to keep it topped up without being ALWAYS 100% charged). Then I have a Panasonic 5 handset DECT cordless cordless phone with answering machine, plugged into this XLink with a bluetooth connection to my phone. It works well so far! Just like having a landline. Voice quality seems fine. This is cheaper than getting a solution like Koodo Home Phone which requires you to buy a ZTE WF723 (which is a $120 unit) and a more expensive phone plan since I can shop around for any plan from any provider. One thing I did do: for my home cell phone plan, I called Freedom and had them remove the voicemail. So the phone line rings at least 10 times, so I can have my Panasonic DECT old school answering machine record any messages on the 6th ring. It's just easier this way to access messages people want to leave for me, using the easy to use answering machine buttons.

I purchased this to test (and use) an old rotary phone from the 70's that I found many years ago. I never knew if the phone actually worked. But, now I know it does! This device has to be the simplest hookup I have ever encountered. Plug in your phone, hold the BT button, pair with your cell. Done. Really it is THAT simple. And, it works as you would expect. Pick up the handset and you hear the old dialtone. The only thing it is not re-creating is the "siren sound" you would hear if you had the phone off the hook for a period of time. The dialtone just lasts forever. Xtreme team, please add this to a next firmware! While the website of the Xtreme Xlink BT says that if you buy direct you won't have to update the firmware, that is not true. This arrive today on 12/3/2024 and the firmware was v30. The latest was v32 and that update (through the web interface on their website) took five or so minutes. But, it's easy and not a hassle. You can do it through their website or via a downloadable application for Windows. And, you want the app (or to use the web interface) as there are options to do lots of stuff. Most importantly ADJUST THE VOLUME of the headset and speaker. This is a great device, works great, reliable...just awesome to use an old phone again in an easy modern way.My hats off to the Xtreme team. Really...great job!

The XLink BT HD is an absolute game-changer! I couldn’t believe how seamless and effective this Bluetooth adapter is. It allows me to use my regular home phones to make and answer calls from my cell phone, all with crystal-clear HD audio. The wideband 16KHz audio quality is truly impressive—I’ve never experienced such clarity on a home phone system before. The convenience of not having to hunt down my cell phone every time it rings is a huge plus. As soon as my phone is within Bluetooth range, the XLink connects automatically, and I can take calls from anywhere in the house. I love that I was able to ditch my landline but still use my antique rotary phone, thanks to full support for pulse and rotary dialing! It’s incredibly easy to set up, works with any Bluetooth-enabled phone, and has completely transformed my home communication setup. No more dead spots, no more missed calls—just smooth, reliable service from my cell, all through my home phones. If you want to modernize your home without giving up the charm of traditional phones, this product is an absolute must-have. Highly recommended!

My Panasonic DECT does not allow leaving voicemail with cellular calls, so I had to find a solution as I no longer have a landline. The Xlink worked like a charm. Unpaired my cell phone from the Panasonic, paired it with the Xlink , attached the telephone wire from the Xlink to the Panasonic DECT base, turned on the answering machine and voila. Voicemail for my cellphone. Nice !

The XLINK BT HD is EXCELLENT! Beyond exceeded my expectations. The audio quality is amazing, way better than the old XLINK BT2. Bluetooth configuration makes for easy setup without having to disconnect everything. The “ring test” button is also a great addition and makes showcasing phones and line testing quite easy. On that note about ring power; this thing is POWERFUL! I have 3 old rotary phones and a digital phone hooked up to it, and all ring at full power without problems.Only things “wrong” though are some time-saving features that existed on old landlines, but missing from this, that I’d love to see added.First feature I’d like to see is a “speed dial” feature, where you can just dial 2, 3, 4, or 5 numbers and it will auto dial a complete 10-digit number. This feature was (and still is) a thing on landlines, and in the old telephone network, you were able to do this if you dialed within the same central office. In addition, a feature to program a “default area code” would be beneficial. A feature like this would allow you to dial only 7 digits, and it will automatically complete the number with the default area area code thus allowing 7 digit dialing (as it no longer works anywhere). This can both simulate the old telephone network’s 7 digit dialing system, saving a considerable amount of time when using a rotary dial.Lastly, an “intercom” feature would be great for functionality. On a real landline, dialing a specific combination of numbers (in our case *53) puts the phone into “intercom mode”. When dialed, a busy signal is put on the line. As soon as you hang up the phone, all phones connected start ringing. Once any phone is answered, you get a line with dead air, allowing for two people in the same house to pick up the phone and talk to one another. Adding this feature would save a lot of time for us, and would better emulate the old landline we got rid of.(On that note about star codes, they are undialable with rotary phones on the XLINK. *53 is obviously something you can only dial with touch tone. On our old landline however, star codes WERE supported on rotary phones by dialing 11 in place of the star. 1153 and *53 do the same thing. Would be nice to see that functionality added too!)If these features are added, it will make this thing even better and will bring my review to 5-stars. Otherwise though, I HIGHLY recommend this!
