I’ve been using the xTool F1 for a while now, and it’s honestly one of the best purchases I’ve made. It’s incredibly fast, which makes a huge difference when working on multiple orders or personalizing items on the spot. The detail and precision are impressive, whether I’m engraving wood, metal, or leather. One of the biggest selling points for me is how portable it is. I take it to fairs and markets, and people are always amazed at how quickly and cleanly it engraves. The red light preview feature makes setup easy, and the software is intuitive, even for someone who isn’t super tech-savvy.If you’re looking for a high-quality laser engraver that’s reliable, fast, and easy to use, the xTool F1 is definitely worth it. It’s completely changed how I work, and I’d recommend it to anyone, whether you're a hobbyist or running a business.

I wanted to like this product so bad because of its ease of use and portability however the first machine I received IR nor blue light laser would actually work which I assumed was a slim chance of happening. I returned and replaced the product and got a new working machine....for one day. This was not user error, the IR laser started strong. But after three projects, it became noticeably weaker. On the 4th it stopped working all together. After numerous tests both the IR and blue light lasers stopped working again for a second time. This machine has not been reliable by any stretch of imagination. understandably you get what you pay for so if you would like something to actually be able to do the jobs you want look at spending upwards of 3K. It's hit or miss at this price point I hope others have had better experiences and I really wanted to like this but there's no way I could do that. I considered upgrading to the F1 ultra but what's the point if the company quality control is this bad? I would rather not spend three times the money for the same awful quality.

So impressive machine. Was able to do project I never thought I would do. People are asking for items to be engraved. Will have my first show in October and planning to bring my machine with me

it is very nice to have both blue and ir laser in one unit not having to change modules to change laser. etches stainless steel pretty good. the full kit has the air purifier which is nice. have not had a chance to use the rotary tool or the slide tool yet.

I couldn’t be happier with the xTool F1! As someone who loves crafting and creating unique designs, this machine has been a total game-changer. From the moment I unboxed it, I was impressed by the quality and versatility it offers. The dual laser feature—10-watt diode and 2-watt infrared—is what truly sets it apart. Whether I’m engraving wood, marking gold and silver, or experimenting with different materials, it handles everything effortlessly. The precision is incredible, and I’ve been able to achieve crisp, professional-looking results on every project. The F1 is not only powerful but also user-friendly. The setup was straightforward, and the software is intuitive, even for someone who isn’t overly tech-savvy. It’s a joy to use, and I’ve found myself spending hours creating custom designs, from slate coasters to pet tags. The creative possibilities are endless, and it’s brought so much fun to my hobby. What I also love is how compact and sleek the design is—it doesn’t dominate my workspace but still feels robust and reliable. The build quality is solid, and it’s clear that xTool put a lot of thought into making this machine durable and long-lasting.One tip for future buyers: invest a little time in learning the software and experimenting with settings for different materials—it’s well worth it to unlock the full potential of this machine.Overall, the xTool F1 is worth every penny. It’s not just a laser engraver—it’s a creative powerhouse that’s reignited my passion for crafting. If you’re on the fence, take the leap. You won’t regret it!

Definitely a learning curve for any laser device, but the software is surprisingly usable. Limited support in Lightburn, but you are WAY better off using the xTool workspace!Really great results!

I was worried about the learning curve for the software but it was so simple, I regret not buying it sooner. It's very quick at both cutting and engraving. I mostly use it to test designs I create and it's been great. The only drawback I have found is that because it uses a mirror to direct the laser beam, circles of small sizes are oblong in height. It's a perfect circle but the bottom part is not directly lined up with the top, more on an angle. Not a deal breaker but I wasn't aware of this beforehand. Overall I am very satisfied .

I own several xTool lasers and decided to add the F1 to the lineup for my studio work. I have been thoroughly impressed by how well this laser works for my needs. The first big project I tackled on it was a run of customized anodized aluminum cards to create tokens for a game. The level of fidelity in the images it produced- the clean sharp lines for text, and even the incredibly detailed greyscale without using a dithering mode were really incredible and were a huge step up from attempting the same engraving on my D1 Pro while also being about 10 times faster. The framing tools were invaluable for being able to lineup the chipboard jig I made for project, being able to see exactly where the bounds were all at once made it so easy to get everything dialed in. The option to have the framing go to the exact shape of the design has also been very useful for some of the other projects I've run on it.The speed on this machine is crazy fast - it's fast enough that I haven't hesitated to incorporate customized parts into more aspects of my shipping materials like mailer boxes and envelopes as they each finish so quickly it takes so little time to make stuff a little extra cool. The air purifier is also a great addition to this device, it's really great to be able to run the machine on a table behind me in the studio and not have to stress about the smoke. All in all this is a really great device that has helped streamline and speed up a lot of the parts of my business I was using lasers for in general.

10W blue diode no faster than an xTool D1 as expected but the IR laser was far slower than advertised by xTool in videos and in material settings page.Brass was an unbearable 5mm/s to get an engraving rather than the advertised 300m/s, that's about 1.6% of the speed.Bare aluminum sheet (3k, 5k, and 6k series aluminum tested, which cover pretty much every aluminum type/grade one comes across or uses on a given day) was 200mm/s to show a uniform mark only visible at some angles, 100mm/s for a light mark but visible at any angle, and 2mm/s for an engrave which can be felt as a different surface and looks dark enoughy to stand out on the aluminum sheet compared to the advertised 600mm/s on their settings page which had absolutely no effect on bare aluminum and is as low as 0.3% of the advertised speed for an engrave.Stainless steel (300 or 400 series used in kitchenware and knives) I was able to get an acceptable dark , at some angles, annealing mark at 100mm/s but no engrave even at 2mm/s which is still only 18% of the advertised 550mm/s.It did work with Lightburn but framing is rendered useless because it just jogs the laser dot once like in a gantry laser, not framing like a galvo as it should so I wouldn't cal it "supported" as there is no successful way of accurately mark on a specific location on a surface like I could with the red crosshair on the D1, it turns the laser dot off once framing is complete making it impossible to adjust a workpiece to accurately frame on a specific location. XCS is far better to use with this unit but if you are used to Lightburn and all of its control and capability both in design (which I personally never use but are very aware of and familiar with) and in laser control settings, you'll find XCS is severly lacking to be a got to software.I loved my D1 pro and had very high hopes for this, but xTool oversold its capabilities unlike their blue diode machines.
