This ladder is compact and heavy duty. It is also very heavy, difficult to extend and even more difficult to retract. One has to be quite careful when retracting it or you could hurt yourself badly, crushed fingers, etc. not the best choice for a home owner . It’s only sales point is it is compact enough for a homeowner to store or transport in a vehicle.

I use this ladder nearly every day. That being the case, I wanted to make sure I had a solid ladder that I could be confident in. It has some weight to it, and feels very solid, But his lighter, and some of the other multifunction Ladders that I’ve owned. I would highly recommend the Extend and climb over other Cheaper ladders found on Amazon and other dealers. Do not skimp on cost over safety. It’s worth a few extra bucks to be a little safer. The Contractor grade is the version I bought because I’m on it every day.It has an additional safety feature that partially stops the ladder rungs From slamming down on your fingers, but sometimes it gets stuck when trying to bring it down. But I’m sure after breaking it in a little, this will loosen up some.I also invested in the bag to protect it when it’s not in use.

Product is supposed to have a 5 year warranty. The manufacturer makes the process extremely complicated and costly. Had I known this, I would never have purchased it. Amazon won't take it back after 30 days and our defect appeared after a year, the ladder has had only light use and has been stored carefully. So 500 bucks just gone. I haven't checked yet into what it will cost to ship the ladder back to the manufacturer, but the expense would be mine in addition to what I already paid for the ladder. They will "take a look at it and let me know"

Purchased this to be able to fix into my small suv. And it works perfect. I am a 300lb dude and this ladder definitely holds me and is stable. It is nice an compact and fits on the floor board behind my passenger seat with out any issuesUpdate: this is still an amazing ladder! I use it regularly whole on the job and the fact that is fits so nicely behind my passanger seat! It also works great to getting into attics that don’t have ladders because you can adjust it to just the right height!This has by far been one of the best investments I have made as a Technician!

This thing weighs 40lbs for the 15' one. The instructions say that you extend it from the top rung first to the bottom. So in essence, once you have it fully extended, most of that weight is high above you. About half way extended it so heavy above you its hard to lift that portion of the ladder up to the next rung below. The weight is so much, its impossible to push the release buttons and if you do, watch out, it SLAMS down to next rung. The instructions actually say to close it from the top going down. You have to lay the ladder down to do that. There is no soft close. If you use it inside and have if fully extended, make sure you have room to lay it down !

It's a really good ladder. When fully extended it will flex some, which can be a bit disconcerting. The lower flip releases can be a bit hard to push sometimes to collapse the ladder. WATCH YOUR FINGERS!!! It took two big blood blisters for me to give this thing respect deserves when collapsing it.It's not perfect, but I'd buy it again.

I bought this ladder for a number of reasons. I bought it for its portability in the house. I have a walk-up attic and even carrying a collapsible ladder up the stairs into the attic is a real pain. A portion of the attic has a height over 10 ft and this ladder will easily reach it. I am considering putting a powered vent fan in this part of the attic in the future and this ladder will work out quite well for this endeavor. This ladder has more reach than my collapsible ladder so it will work out outside as well. This ladder looks like it will be able to do anything from a 2-step stepladder to an extension ladder of the same height. At 40 plus pounds it is not a lightweight piece of equipment but its ease of transport more than makes up for this. Carrying this is like carrying a heavy suitcase but carry a ladder of the same weight collapsible or otherwise and you will immediately notice the difference as you navigate tight spaces. Storage of this ladder is another plus for it. In the recreational vehicle world i.e., travel trailers and 5th wheels ladders like this a godsend for inspection and maintenance of the vehicle.

Ladder gummed up within the first couple of uses and despite the recommended instructions for cleaning (it got caught in some light rain,) I was unable to get it opened or closed without extreme effort. The most frustrating thing is that there was not response to my request for help or warranty claim through the email system and you cannot get through on the phone. I’m a home inspector and use my ladder multiple times a day and am so disappointed in the product, but especially in the lack of response and inability to get a different ladder or refund. I’ve told everyone I’ve encountered to avoid them like the plague. Junk company and product.
