Works great on my pickup to change the filter without having oil run down your arm while taking the filter off my pickup truck.

I work as a professional mechanic and change a lot of oil throughout the day. This product has made replacing the vertical oil filters much less messy and has made my day at work much more enjoyable. Would definitely recommend to anyone in the same boat or a diy guy to save the mess. I love small business products! Thank you!NOTE: You need to get a 5/8" ID hose for the end so the oil does not go all over your arm. Do not try and use this with the cap closed to catch all the oil. As the oil udder fills up with oil it becomes impossible to spin the filter, especially in a confined space (say on an LS style oil filter). So use with about 18" of hose and drain the oil out while you spin the filter off. Works even on Toyota cartridge style filters.

I was a bit skeptical at first because it's a bit pricey for a funnel. But it does a great job as advertised. I used it to change my oil on my 2011 Honda Pilot and not one drip of oil got anywhere. It'll pay itself off over time and I don't have to worry about oil in my driveway.

If you buy this for a RAM 1500 5.7 Hemi you will be disappointed. While it does catch some of the oil as you remove the filter, it still allows oil to run down the sides missing the udder cup since on a RAM truck the udder must be at an angle to fit. This was featured in one of their videos on a RAM 1500 due to the poor design placement of the filter where oil spills onto the electronic steering, but it still doesn't do the job. When you go to remove the filter you still have to tilt it which spills outside of the rubber udder. While it may only be half the mess, I still had my arm covered in oil and oil spill onto the steering housing and crossmember. I think a gallon ziplock bag and rags would work just as well. It probably works well on other vehicles but not on the RAM 1500 as advertised.

My engine cover takes mechanics with a ramp some time to take on and off.Under my rhino ramps at home, there is no way that I could get it back on or off without a fight. So it stays put. It has a tight, very deep recess where the oil filter lives. My hand plus the filter was too tight a fit when getting it down through the opening in the cover.Normally I had a 50% chance of dropping the filter up there inside the cover - with it leaking everywhere. So I added a one-foot-long solid shaft to extend the udder. After loosening the filter with a fifteen-flute oil filter wrench, I used the soft rubber on the udder to grab and rotate the filter a little more, and then once it was free-spinning, the magnet in the udder took over.Down it came on the shaft, with the oil still in the filter, and no old oil spilled, not one drop. When it came time to pull the filter away from the udder, the filter pulled away easily from the magnet. This tool is well thought out and well made.It makes a vast difference to what used to be a very messy business. Thanks so much, guys.

The first time that I used this tool, I found it easy to use, and it worked very well. After I has loosened the oil filter with a metal cap-style wrench, I attached the Oil Udder to the bottom of the filter using the built-in magnet, and then manually loosened the filter the rent of the way by grasping and turning the outside of the rubber funnel. (I had wondered if this would allow me sufficient grip on the filter, but it worked just fine.) Furthermore, all of the oil that leaked out from the top of the filter was contained inside the Oil Udder as the filter was unscrewed from its mounting location on the engine; no oil got on my hands as I performed this operation, which usually has not been the case.I should point out that, n my case, the oil filter was mounted vertically, with the filter opening facing upwards; removing a filter mounted horizontally may not be as clean a job, but I would expect the Oil Udder to make it cleaner than it would be otherwise.Overall, I am completely satisfied with this product and I would definitely recommend it to others.

First I want to say that this is a great idea for the most part. I used this on a 2019 Ram with the 5.7, which is well known to have an oil filter in a spot that can cause a big mess when removing. The funnel was helpful by holding it under the filter, loosening the filter, and allowing it to drain into the funnel before removal.I moved to the drain plug, which has a sway bar next to it. I tried to position the flexible funnel in such a way that it could fit between the oil pan and sway bar. Unfortunately, when doing so the magnet (meant to catch the drain plug as it falls) stuck to the oil pan and pulled out of the funnel (shown in the first photo). Then the drain plug fell into the funnel, blocked it, and allowed about half the oil to overflow onto the drive before I could get the plug out of it.If the magnet was more positively seated, and couldn’t easily be removed, I believe it would have worked as expected. I still feel it’s a great tool to have, I just learned a very messy lesson I hoped to pass on to others. I would still recommend it.

I really liked the "idea" of this product, and I had high hopes for it working with my 2017 ram 1500 with a 5.7LBut no go, there is no way to get this on the filter with any real chance of collecting the over flowing oil.It simply pours down the sides and makes that mess we're all used to because of Ram's failure of a filter placement. As such, it'll hang on the wall for the day I own something else that it may work on.Great product idea, but not for my truck.
