This rings is terrible!!! I had a poloarpro VND Get stuck while I was on assigenment. By the grace of god was able to get it off. Fast forward shooting an event. Same thing dam thing was stuck and I had to get duck tape to try and hold the ring in place to spin off the filter. Terrible!

Feels nice and sturdy! Based on previous reviews of ring getting stuck, I avoided any tightening. I let the ring do the stopping, not me. I tried to do my own tightening and did so very subtly, I almost experienced what the reviews mentioned. So make a mental note not to tighten by your own hand. Let the ring stop spinning and you're good to go!!!!Enjoy!

This adapter is made of high quality brass. The machining/build quality is excellent. Brass adapters/filters are easy to mount on and off. They don't damage your lens thread of get stuck. It is worth paying few extra few dollars for this adapter because I hate it when a filter gets stuck during a photo session.

Step Up Rings: I also bought both the Luzid's Brass 72-82 + 77-82 Step Up rings to adapt to the lenses I have for $11.95 ea. The 72-82 has a common toothed front rim. [I used this step up ring in testing this 3 filter set.] The 77-82 has the nicer knurled side edge [ala Breakthrough X4 style]. Not sure why this knurled side edge is not standard across the entire line, but it is not yet.Nice thread milling: No stuck filters. High quality and low price point.

Top quality metal step up ring.. no problem separating a B+W and a Hoya and a Vivitar filter without a wrench.. Took a very long time to arrive... but that's an Amazon issue... Would purchase other rings without concern. Brass>Aluminum>plastic in my humble opinion Came in the same type of plastic case a quality filter would arrive in and an additional fancy box.. Can't beat that

I bought this product for use with my B+W 77mm Kaesemann Circular Polarizer. I simply bought the largest filter size I needed for my lens kit (77mm) and counted on using step step rings for my other lenses (67mm in this case for my Canon 70-200mm f/4L IS).Every other filter in my camera bag is a B+W and every other filter in my bag has been well worth the high price paid, so I figured I’d go for this brass step-up ring and just be done with it.But then this step-up ring wouldn't separate from my B+W, and I've never had this problem before in the past.I've even gone so far as to attach this ring to my 77mm lenses first, then gently attach my 82mm polarizer to the front of the step-up ring. When doing this, I don't even screw the polarizer's threads to the end of their travel within the step up ring.I choose to gently rotate the front element of the polarizer in the "tightening" direction without touching either the back ring of the polarizer filter. By doing this, the polarizer serves as a "clutch" that ensures barely any torque is applied to the polarizer/step up ring interface.NEVERTHELESS, it still sticks! I'm an aerospace engineer with a pretty decent technical grasp, so one of the first precautions I took when realizing that this filter was not brass was to be careful not to foul the threads. I can't express how irritating this binding problem is in the field. The product is priced not terribly far (at least by B+W standards) from cheaper step up rings. It turns out that this is simply because it's a poorly manufactured product! Some of the other reviewers gave 5 stars to the product despite the sticking/binding (are you kidding me?). If this amateur user is annoyed at missed photo opportunities because of this binding issue, I can't imagine how furious a pro would be.I've never given a 1 star review on Amazon in my life. This is the first and I'd happily give zero if possible. There is absolutely no excuse for a company to put out this kind of garbage. As of now, my nearly $200 B+W polarizer remains bound to this step up ring!
