The 46mm-58mm ring adapter easily screws onto the front of any 46mm lens, and converts the thread size of your lens to the thread size of any other 58mm accessory (such as filters, hoods, flashes and lens converters). Simply screw the threaded portion of this adapter ring onto the front of the 46mm lens and then screw the 58mm filter into the adapter ring.

Absolutely perfect for my use. I have two different sizes of these things, both from the same manufacturer, and they are both equally good. The only reason I can think of to get a more expensive version or model is if you need very fast shipping - these come all the way from China.

What can I say other than it "does what it says . . ." It appears good quality and did exactly what I wanted it for i.e. attaching a lens to by video camera that had different screw sizes.

Poorly machined on the 46mm end. Wouldn't thread into my Sony camcorder or a inexpensive 46mm filter at all. Would thread partially into a Hoya filter, with difficulty, and was even harder to remove. I ran the Hoya on several times hoping to clean up the threads. No such luck! It just got more difficult to remove. I don't want to chance getting it stuck on the camcorder and it's too cheap to return, so I'll just toss it.
