The outside diameter of the male end of this grommet is 1mm too small (needs to be 2.24” /57mm. Instead it is 2.20” /56mm) and as a result it’s way too loose and water just pours out the bottom. Someone posted a review video about how loose it is - I should have paid attention. Instead I ordered the part, waited for it to arrive, took everything apart, put it back together only to find it leaking like crazy. And now I’m back to square one. Supposed to be a direct replacement of W1182008 but it’s not. Can I do zero stars? Instead I got the part from a whirlpool parts distributor for $16.

Poor fitment. The inner diameter of this grommet is correct and it seals snugly. However, the outer diameter of this grommet is too small and it slides in and out with ease. If you were to run your dishwasher with this grommet installed you would most certainly flood your kitchen. When running a quick rinse cycle after the install to test, this grommet leaked as if there was nothing installed at all. Look elsewhere for a proper fitting part.

The best way I tried is to first apply dishwashing soap, put it on a flat surface then press it in from above.

I had a circulation pump that went out on my kitchenaid dishwasher and I figured that while I was replacing the pump, it's probably a good idea to replace the grommet as well. Item arrived as expected and fit perfectly. I soaked it in hot water to soften it up to help it slide onto the pump easier. Would def recommend if you need a replacement.

My Jenair dishwasher was leaking water, It looked like it was around the cirulation pump. i was sure if it was the pump or the grommet. After doing the repair. I started it up and no more water leak.This was definetly the part at a much better price that the online parts store.

My kitchenaid dishwasher was leaking from underneath and after some digging I found it was this gasket. After checking model numbers between the two, it seemed to be a good description. Arrived quickly within a day or two. It was a very snug fit getting onto the sump bit after installing it, it was a perfect fit and the leak was fixed!

Works and fits well, no leaks. The only issue was that it took some time for me to figure out that it is much easier when you put this grommet first on the circulation pump when assembling.
