This is a great little tool. It works very well tightening or loosening, which I haven’t needed to use it for tightening, but it does fit and work if needed.. the vertical arms could be a little longer. That would be helpful and maybe have a little rubber boots over the arms or something to help grab the filter would make it and even better product.. It works very well and tight to reach places.

Got this to have a easier way taking off filter. It works perfect and magnet holds it in place, but it doesn't not work with K&N oil filters with the 1" easy wrench off

Due to not getting an oil change done on a low mileage car for 3 years, the filter seemed like it was welded on! Another lesser made wrench made of stamped steel just deflected and began to slip when a lot of torque was put on it... but not this gem! It's solidly made and the more torque, the tighter it gripped. It and a short breaker bar made easy work of my stuck filter. And the magnet is genius.... made it easy to set the wrench on the filter even one handed and out of sight and was strong enough to hold the wrench with a 10" extension on it. Very impressed!

Had to change the first oil filter on my Gator. It is a very small access hole and John Deere puts them on VERY tight. I tried 4 different wrenches that kept slipping. I even bought a JD wrench for that filter but it kept slipping. Went to local parts place and bought a 2.5” strap type wrench. It bent the first try. After 2 hours I gave up.I ordered this wrench and so glad I did.Very sturdy and well built. I put it on the filter and used 5/8” wrench (no room for the ratchet. This took it off. Never slipped once. Once it grabbed the filter that’s it.I ordered the larger size by mistake and was going to return it but these oil wrenches are so well built I’m going to keep it in case I need it for a different project in the future. These wrenches work great. Strongly recommend.

Neat design that works well. My truck has the oil filter in a spot that it can't be accessed from the top or bottom of the engine. I have to pull the passenger tire off to get to it from the side and there is not much clearance to get to it from there. There is not enough space to put the tool on a ratchet or breaker bar, but was able to use a open ended wrench after positioning the tool with the magnet. It worked great! The oil filter was on pretty tight, but the three arms dug in and torqued it off. Really happy with this oil filter wrench.A note on the top critical review. The reviewer said the wrench damaged his new oil filter when installing it. That occurred because you do NOT use an oil filter wrench to install an oil filter. Oil filters should be firmly hand tightened only. They do not require torquing with a wrench.

Reviews of my new Chevy Trailblazer said that the factory installed oil filter is a bear to remove. I bought this oil filter tool in anticipation of a hard to remove oil filter. When it came, it appeared to be very well made. Solid construction for sure. At my 1000 mile first oil change, I used this tool to remove the factory filter. They weren't kidding. With the small access port and an oil filter that must've been put on with a tool at the factory, that thing was really tight and impossible to get to with any kind of a strap wrench. Placing this tool at the end of the filter, I was able to remove it using a half inch ratchet, reduced down to a 3/8 inch fitting for the top of the tool. The tool did a fantastic job, even though the filter would have been extremely difficult to remove otherwise. But with this tool and a half inch ratchet, the task of removing the filter became very easy. The tool grabbed onto the filter very well. Being that the filter was on so tight, the tool actually had to dent the filter to remove it. But grip it it did, with fantastic results. I can't say enough good things about it.

Worked like a champ - Had a hard-to-reach filter that a typical "band" would not reach. With the magnet holding it in place and a 3/8" wrench - it was off in a flash. As others noted, the glue holding the rubber "protection" (not really needed - are you really worried about scratching the top of your old filter?!?) goops everywhere. So, I just cleaned it all off, used some Gorilla glue to put it back on, and I'm golden.Well made - you should be happy with it.And yes - you can tighten and loosen - just don't go crazy and crush the filter if/when you tighten.
