i bought this blade because the one that came in the block plane i bought from woodcraft had a chip on one corner and i didnt want to keep sharpening the chipped blade until the chip was gone. nice replacement blade but woodcraft should have caught that before shipping it to me like that.

So happy to see a replacement planner for an older hand planner can be found. This blade fit my father in laws planner he has had over 35 years. Fit like it was a brand new planner. My sister in law will be thrilled when I give it to her. Thanks to the seller

It fits my older Stanley 9 1/2 perfectly, but, not the newer Bailey, different blade mechanism. Otherwise, soooo much better than the thinner Stanley blade. The next ones I'm ordering though are gonna be Lee Valley though, the A2 they have is very good I hear. The Lee valley one is 20 bucks more though, For the price, it's hard to beat these replacement blades. One just has to be sure that the plane they have has the older style blades where the notches aren't cut all the way through the blade, like the new Bailey Stanley low angle block plane. It'll also fit the Stanley 9 1/4, adjustment to the mouth may be necessary though.

Came as advertised. Very little post-work needed to get the blade razor sharp.
