Introducing the Woodpeckers Rout-N-Plane and Rout-N-Plane XL Bench Top Board Mills, a router sled designed to tackle two woodworking challenges your thickness planer can’t handle—flattening end-grain cutting boards and leveling glued-up panels wider than your planer. The Rout-N-Plane offers a safer, more precise way to achieve flat, smooth surfaces without the risks associated with jointers or planers. Available in two sizes, the original Rout-N-Plane accommodates boards up to 15" wide, while the XL version extends that capacity to 24".

End-grain cutting boards are a popular choice for durability in the kitchen, but leveling them can be tricky and dangerous with traditional tools. Simply secure your board to a flat surface, adjust the sled height, and set your router depth for a smooth, even pass. In just minutes, your board will be perfectly flat and ready for sanding.

From lightweight laminate trimmers to powerful 3HP routers, the Rout-N-Plane works with them all. Its adjustable design quickly adapts to fit a wide range of router sizes, allowing for flexible and convenient use. The powder-coated finish provides a low-friction surface, ensuring smooth gliding across your benchtop and making router operation effortless.

Fast and Easy Adjustments for Precision

Setting up the Rout-N-Plane is incredibly simple. Just use the tab setting on the sled ends to position the router support slightly above your board, lock it in place with the spin knobs, and you’re ready to go. A centering guide ensures proper alignment of the router, while a sacrificial fence helps keep the sled square to your project for accurate results. The Original Rout-N-Plane is designed for tables at least 22-1/2" wide, and the XL model requires at least 32".
