Sturdy system, solid wood. There are enough pieces in number and variety to configure different tracks. Storing the pieces back in the box is a hassle. I don’t remember how they were placed because my kids opened it up, but pay attention to that and putting them back in may be easier. The little figures that come with the track is of good quality as well. Due to the size of the figures I wouldn’t recommend it for kids who place items in their mouths unless they are supervised closely. The wheels for the trains run smoothly across the track.

There's a whole lot going on here. I feel like there are way too many pieces that aren't necessary or relevant to a train set (like plastic dinosaurs??) That makes it a mess to play with. The wooden tracks notch together like puzzle pieces and stay together for the most part. I really like that you can configure this is different ways, so it keeps it fun and creative. It would be great if it had fewer little plastic pieces (palm trees?) And more train car attachments. The magnetic crane is actually really cool and gets a lot of use by our toddler. Overall, it's fun to set up and play with but I would eliminate some of the unnecessary add ons.

My toddler loves to play with trains and puzzles. This is a fun toy for him because he is able to build new ways each time or follow the photo and make the one like the box.The pieces fit easily onto each other and they are smooth to the touch. They can be easily stored in to box but we ended up putting them in a plastic container for safe keeping and not to lose any pieces.

This is a great standard size wooden train set. The only annoying thing is that the bridge is too low to allow the trans to run underneath of it.

My then 18month toddler showed a lot of interest in model train displays over the winter holidays so I though she would enjoy this set at home. She is not able to play with it independently but with an adult, she is quite engaged with how it all fits together and with pushing the train cars on the track. The product information clearly states that it is intended for children age 3 and older and I do agree with that. I like that it does not take up a whole lot of space when it is assembled or when it is stored. For clarification, the track and the train cars are smoothly finished wood. All the other pieces are plastic. When you look at the photo in the product information, this is fairly evident but I was somehow expecting more of it to be wood. All in all, I think it is a good train set for creative play.

This train set is a great addition to one that my son got for Christmas. It works well with other wooden tracks. There are a mix of plastic pieces with wooden pieces. I did notice that the plastic pieces fit with the wooden ones much more snuggly than the other wooden ones do. There are several pieces that have plastic switchers. There are several small pieces that might not be suitable for young children. My son has fun playing with this, and can spend longer with this toy than some others. He is also able to put this together himself. The magnet seems to be fairly strong. It makes it up the hills easily. Overall, a great product. It loses a star due to some tight fitting pieces.

This set has a lot of pieces - but it would have been better had they reduced the number of pieces and focused on quality and more consistent proportions. The train and tracks are ok, but the construction vehicles are quite tiny and are poor quality (e.g. the scooper part of the backhoe has a sharp point in one corner - as if it was punched from a mold but not sanded smooth). IF dinosaurs and construction vehicles were to be included, they should have been bigger and better quality. And why is there just a single bigger dinosaur with wheels? The set doesn’t make sense, and I have deducted stars because of too many small and junky pieces. The crane is a good idea, but total junk; even as an adult, I have difficulty turning the cranks to raise and lower the magnet.
