I bought four of these handrails for safety due to health issues my wife has now. Because our plans kept changing I purchased them one at a time. They are a solid strong wood. The finish is nice looking and consistent. I make that point because, four handrails, purchased one at a time and the stain finish is exactly the same. I am completely happy with the way they are made and finished. The only reason they didn't get five stars is because of the bracket. The wall side of the bracket is a round base, 2.25 inches in diameter with holes for three screws. Because of the size and spacing of the screws it is doubtful of hitting a standard 1.75 inch stud with all three screws. Therefore I purchased separately different brackets with a better design to make it easier.

This has been a game changer in our house. Bad knees make going up and down stairs very difficult but this handrail makes a difference. We have a bannister on one side and this was easily installed onto the opposite wall. I can’t do without it now. And it’s even sturdier than our bannister. Very well made.

Quality exceeded expectations- nice finish on the wood- well designed brackets that were easy to install. Overall a very sturdy handrail.

We like how this rail dressed up our garage entry from an old gross painted rod. The wood is very pretty and strong.Installation is a bit of brain damage with angles/measurements etc. Def need a stud finder. Price is amazing - great value. Recommend.

love the natural wood look. It's sturdy and strong makes it great for holding on while going up and down the stairs. Would definitely buy again. Thank you.

Was excited to install these when they arrived, as they looked nice initially. But when I got ready I quickly realized the 2 4-foot sections I ordered were warped to the point where I wouldn't be able to install them. One was almost like a banana. Very disappointed, had to return them.

I installed these in the hall and bathroom of an 85 year old woman who is prone to falling. They look less industrial than other choices. They are sturdy and nicely finished. I bought four. The nice thing about these is that the wall connector can go anywhere on the handrail, so you can ways get at least one screw into a stud on a drywall installation. Pro tips: The hollow wall anchors are trash unless you know how to install them. Don’t push them flush into the drywall before inserting the screw. They just fall back behind the wall. Leave them protruding about half an inch, insert the screw to expand the anchor, then at the end gently push the anchor flush with the drywall. Do this manually - not with an electric screwdriver. The instructions are not efficient. There’s a much easier and faster way to get a level and firm install, but it’s too much to write here. You’ll know after installing the first one. :-)

So, the handrail that I HAD on my front deck steps gave up the ghost. Because I needed something sturdier and able to stand up to the outside elements, I wanted to replace the handrail with one that was wider, well made, sturdy, and could hold up to being used constantly by older ( and younger) people to help them navigate the outdoor stairs to my home. This rail fit the bill. It was easy to put up, looks good, and now, when people visit, they have a sturdy rail to hang on to as they're coming up to my door. I would highly recommend this rail for your home, if you have similar needs.
