At the top, there’s a distributor that sends marbles to the left or right, guiding them onto three tracks (two outside and one inside). The marbles roll down using gravity, and a special mechanism at the bottom picks them up and lifts them back to the top, keeping the action going.

Instructions are awful - very difficult to following faint lines in the assembly manual to see where tabs are inserted.It is difficult to remove parts from the boardsHowever, customer service is excellent..Finally: I am not sure I can get this thing to work. When I engage the motor, the motor housing become dislodged. Everything is sanded and waxed. Without the motor, everything slides easily.

This was a gift for my father and he really enjoyed putting it together. He states it was very challenging but fun to put together. Wood trick is one of his favorite 3D wood puzzle companies. He states it is the best quality and sturdiest pieces when he is trying to put the puzzle together.

Die Bausätze von WoodTrik (mittlerweile der 4.) erweisen sich qualitativ als die besten.Mit Geduld, etwas Kraft aber auch Feingefühl, sind Funktionalität, Passgenauigkeit etc. einfach top.Dies rechtfertigt gegenüber anderen Herstellern auch den höheren Preis.Hoffentlich gibt es bald Neuerscheinungen.

Putting this together is a bit of a project, but it's very well organized by the instructions. First read through that big colored illustrated book showing the steps, it's like a story. When you're building it, make sure the inner parts you are building first work before layering on the outer parts.The material is 3 layers, wood outside and it seems plasticky inside, a bit flexible so that breakage is very rare. If you break something they will replace up to two sheets of parts free, according to the instructions. It's amazing what you can do with such engineered wood to build the simple moving machinery in this kit, and it still looks like wood at the end.

My 15-year-old daughter LOVES to do wooden puzzles and this is the biggest challenge she has taken on yet. She was very impressed with how well it is packaged and all of the components that came with it. There is wax, sand paper, and a tool to make punching-out easier. There were a lot of pieces that were a bit tricky to punch out, but there is a large section dedicated to extra pieces in case something breaks. Some of the pieces are very intricate. She is excited to put it together.We were a little surprised that our set was missing the button for the electric components. I contacted their company directly and they were very prompt and courteous and soon I had a tracking number for the button to be shipped to me. They're a great company and it feels good to support engineers in this very niche and amazing product.I will update this review after we've had a chance to put it together, but we are very happy with the company and the product so far!

I spent several hours putting this together. I turned it on, it ran for about 2 minutes, then the drive motor came loose. Before i realized what was happening it split the wooden pieces in half and i was left staring at a BIG PIECE OF CRAP!!! i hope this helps you make your decision whether to spend money on this.
