It is a chroney, it will give you the speed of the projectile, but it also has some problems. One is that you have to switch it to feet/sec each and every time you turn it on, and it is not very intuitive when you do so. Second the sky screens are very short, making the overall window to shoot through very small. Third is that I had to keep backing away further and further from the unit as I was shooting as the muzzle blast kept giving me ERR message. By the time I was far enough away, I wound up shooting the unit by accident because I was threading a needle when shooting a magnum handgun cartridge.Yes, that is my fault I flinched, but I shot closer to other chroneys using different equipment. If you are a precision shooter, this may not be a problem. So yes, the unit does give you some value as it reads bullet speed well, and the unit is cheap. I probably will buy another when I get a chance, I will just have to live with the tiny screens.

Ok, at first, I thought at this price point there's no way this thing would actually work. I measured my 308, my 6.5 Creedmoor, my 300 blackout both subsonic and supersonic, my 762x39s, 12g buckshot and slugs, 22s, 9mm, 40 cal, 223s, 556s, 380, I could go on but I think you get the idea, they were all relatively close to spec. I wouldn't say they were precise, but they were respectable, within 10 to 15 fps. In my book, that is damn near dead on. When making my own loads, I can use this with confidence to adjust grains of powder to achieve my precise FPS. I was really impressed.

I could not follow the instruction sheet that came with it. I also did not come with a carrying case. I would not buy this item again.
