I’m not sure if I got a defective unit, but this made my Miata bog down and barely start every time. Looking at the other reviews, I had a similar case where the filter I got was nothing like the picture, being silver instead of black. I ordered straight from amazon so I’m confused on this.Immediately I noticed a bog in performance on the first drive, and the car would barely limp to turn on each time, taking 5-10 seconds each time. It’s obvious it couldn’t get fuel to the engine. I replaced with a purolator filter I got from Advance Auto Parts since the OEM filter was around $80. The difference between the two is immeasurable, all the power is back and the car turns on within a second.I highly recommend any filter but this one. I’m not sure if mine was a one-off, but looking at the other reviews, that doesn’t seem to be true.

I haven't tried the filter yet but I'm sure it's fine. However, the box the filter came in was beaten to a pulp because it was shipped in a bubble bag. Also, the filter I received is silver in color, not black as shown in the picture.

Please do not buy this item unless u love torture. Installed Fuel filter and it leaked fuel from where the support bracket is attached to filter. So had to reinstall old filter until I can get a new one from local auto parts store. Check other reviews many have had the same problem. It's even doubtful that this is a "real" Wix filter as Wix is usually very high quality.

This was a perfect fit. I wish that I could say it was an easy install, but fuel filter change on a miata is a pain. Thankfully this went in with no extra hassle.

Same fitment as OEM, remember that it uses the plastic clip on retainers that require a tool to remove from the OEM filter. Good quality, hard install on Miata...expect fuel everywhere.

It filters fuel. I dont know what more you could ask of it.I installed on a 99 miata and read suggestions to not reuse old clips and purchase new. The ones i got were terrible and i ended up using the old ones anyways. You're likely to get a gas bath when you change these out, so heads up on that.

I used this to replace the original fuel filter on a 2000 Mazda Miata. The change did not go well but it was for reasons other than this filter. The filter seems to be the same dimensions as the original, fits in the bracket, retains the quick connect clips, and the car runs fine so it is at least passing gasoline and hopefully filtering it.

What a nightmare to install!!!! No fault of the filter, WIX makes EXCELLENT filters. Fault of Mazda! Only way to get to this thing is from directly under it, the lines are plastic and have couplings that must be lined up PERFECTLY straight to connect And you can BARELY reach the top fitting with the TIPS of your fingers. All the while, because your directly under the fuel tank, it is pouring gas out from gravity feed all over you. Buy the filter and take it someplace to get installed! What a nightmare this thing was! NOTE: Gasoline chemically burns your skin BAD and it takes a good week to heal.
