This allowed me to replace the m.2 wifi in my home labe server thing and put a SATA m.2 drive in there. It recognizes it and everything. Has been awesome

This is an excellent converter for being able to put a larger SSD into a laptop with fixed storage. I put into a dell inspiron 14, with a 32 gig fixed ssd. I had to trim the cover and put a makeshift plastic cover over the cutout, but I was able to expand the storage to 1 terabyte ssd using the A-E key mini-pcie slot. It works great and the speed of the pcie bus get me an average of 500 gigabytes per second so it not too bad for an old laptop….

This is a completely passive adapter. It just has the connector. The PCB has break points if you want to cut it down for the smaller size modules. It has an extra hole at the normal location for wifi cards, but clearance for even 2230 cards can still be an issue.I used it with a 16GB optane drive. It detects fine, and works at x1 width. This isn't a super fast drive, usually only about 1GB/sec, but even with the limited x1 I still got 840 MB/s so it is an OK solution for a drive like this.

This is a great option if you have an unused wifi-m.2 slot, and would like to use it for extra storage or perhaps a small operating system drive for a hypervisor (Proxmox, etc) or NAS operating system (TrueNAS, etc). It is working in a small form factor PC I set up for testing purposes, even if the speeds are about 15% slower than expected from an actual nvme slot on the motherboard.Great adapter option when your motherboard has limited nvme slots.Recommended.

You can easily break it apart to fit your SSD length. Super convenient. Keep in mind this will not have the same read/write speed as a regular M2 SSD slot as there is only 1 PCIE lane, but still faster than the fastest SATA SSD.

I used this in the wifi m.2 slot of a Lenovo P360 Ultra running ESXi 8.0.1 with a Samsung PM991a 2230 m.2 SSD. Even cut down to the last notch on this adapter it won't fit correctly on the board, but does allow it to be plugged in just at an awkward and insecure way. the SSD shows up as a PCIe Storage Adapter that I was able to install ESXi onto.

I ran into an issue with the supplied set screw, since it is a single piece instead of two pieces that can be twisted on and off like others out there. With the design of my motherboard, I cannot attach this adapter card to my motherboard and attach my m2 card to the adapter at the same time, so either this adapter or my m2 card is loose and sticking up.I first screw this adapter to my motherboard, a hole which gets covered by my m2 card. Then I can put in my m2 card. The problem now is that I cannot screw the set screw to the adapter card, since there is no clearance with the motherboard in the way, so my m2 card is sticking up. If I had the two piece set screw, I would screw that in first, then the adapter card, then the m2 card. Not the suppliers fault, I should have caught this before hand, but why not just supply the two piece set screw? No real reason to use a one piece set screw.
