Depending on the wire type and/or light bulb type, the 3 spools can store up to 150' of extension cords, 150 ft. of mini lights, or 75 ft. of traditional christmas lights.

Bought this set to use for storing our solar string lights for camping. Fits 2 50ft strands of lights, with room left over for the solar panels and other lighting gear (clips, unnecessary remote controls, spare bulbs). Great buy and is still in great shape after 3+ camping trips.

I was dreading packing up the Christmas lights this year. I have historically used cardboard cutouts to wrap/store our lights until I was delighted by these gems. What a handy solution. I have two sets of Xmas lights, icicles and a 330ft led string set. Both are easily stored on these reels. Easy to put together, easy to use and feel sturdy enough for the purposes of storage. A much neater and more practical solution than what I had. Highly recommend.

easy to put together. they hold the mini LED light strands very well. they will not fit back into the red duffle bag they came with once they are full of lights ! had to buy a storage bin to stack them into. So buy some reels that do not come with a bag for simple storage !

Christmas lights can be a PIA at times, and because houses don't come pre lit, I end up spending hours and hours cussing at the jumbled mess of what looks like Christmas light spaghetti.This year I fought for hours un-knotting a pile of LED madness to put out a most amazing display of twinkling sparkles but decided to try storing them a bit differently. I searched on Amazon for an automatic Christmas Light Retrieval System, but apparently such an invention has not been created yet.So, I found these. What appeared to be spools that are stored in a weatherproof type bag. How ingenious!I ordered them. Proceeded to procrastinate. Ignored the letters from the Homeowners Association warning me that I had to take down my lights. Procrastinated some more. Watched the Super Bowl. Ignored another letter from the HOA. Celebrated Valentines Day. Got another letter, so I decided it was time. Yes, it was time to take down the lights.I moved all the stuff in the garage corner that I had piled up on the Amazon box containing the ingenious storage system. Three and a half hours later I was able to open the box and retrieve this remarkable package.I ate some Wheaties, drank some coffee, did twelve..ok, three push ups in preparation for what would be the most daunting task of the year. I opened the front door, took out my wallet… and paid the neighbor’s kid to take down the lights and store them neatly in this amazing storage system.The lights came down with ease. I didn’t even break a sweat. They rolled so quickly and easily onto these spools and were stored in this very attractive red bag. There was a chorus of cheers and claps from the neighbors as the bag was zipped up.That evening, and I can’t guarantee you will have this same experience though, fireworks exploded all along my street as the neighborhood rejoiced at the dismantling of my Christmas Lights.Overall, life has been changed forever. This storage system is very well made. I had no complaints from the neighbor's kid as he rolled the lights and stuffed the spools into the bag.I highly recommend purchasing this storage system almost as much as I recommend the purchase of pre-lit houses.

I have had Santa's Bags light totes for several years. I needed more of them. After buying other brands, and returning them, I came back to the brand that meets my needs. These are the only Christmas light totes I've ever been able to find that will hold 2 strands of 5mm LED string lights on one reel AND FIT INTO THE TOTE. You can find other brand reels that will squeeze 2 strands on them but the totes will not hold the full reels. These totes are roomy enough to hold the reels with the lights on them. The reels are super easy to assemble. The halves literally snap together with a spinning handle in the middle. They are made of a sturdy canvas and the zippers seem to be heavy duty. My old ones are about 8 years old and they still look and work great. I hope these new ones will hold up the same. Santa's Bags are the best!

A lot of this kind of storage for rope lights and the like is more expensive. I am happy with the value for money I got here.Winding the lights around the spindles was a little tricky at times as the lights would sometimes get in the way.I was able to coil 3 lengths of tree lights around each spindle (one larger type and two smaller types each) I feel I could coil another with the smaller lights around each one if I was careful.I would recommend this to most folks with christmas decorations. it would also work for tinsel and similar.

I have C9 size bulbs and could only get about 20' to fit on one spool. I had a lot of lights so I kept wrapping them but the spools don't fit in the storage bag now. The plastic is also very thin and cheap.
