About this item

  • For fine detail, lines and glazes; This version comes with a short handle ideal for close up work
  • Best suited for full body acrylics, but also suitable for oils and alkyds
  • Synthetic filament blended for easy cleaning and excellent flow control

Galeria Brushes are specifically designed for use with acrylic color. The versatility of acrylic color can place heavy demands on brushes so this range has been created to be strong, resilient and flexible. The mix of synthetic filaments provide responsiveness and control for thicker application of color, whilst maintaining shape retention, regardless of how much water you use. The synthetic filaments in the flat brushes are curved, helping to retain the original shape during use. The round brushes offer a good point for delicate linear application. The brushes with short-handles have a softer head, ideal for glazing or a water color style of painting. The long-handled brushes are made from stiffer filaments, allowing thicker application on tougher surfaces.

I've been oil painting for close to 20 years and have quite a few galeria brushes. Most of mine are from when I started and have lasted nearly 20 years and are still as great as when I began. They are my go to brushes, as their elegance flows on a canvas like silk. They do things my other brushes just cannot hope to do and if they ever made a fan brush I'd buy it. After 20 years, none of them have broken, their brisles are all great, and the handles aren't flaking the finish that badly. I have high expectations for this brush, and hope to buy more Galeria brushes in the future.

Llegó en perfecto estado. Me permite pintar bien los detalles de mis miniaturas. Es un tipo de pincel que recomiendo tener siempre para este tipo de hobby.

Winsor & Newton have regularly produced the most reliable artist's materials; but the GALERIA line of brushes perform so well you don't even have to think about them. Just DO it.

This review is for the Galeria size 0 brush. While my Winsor & Newton series 7 (MUCH better brushes) all have super sharp, pointy tips, this brush's tip isn't quite so sharp. The tip balloons out a bit more than others when paint is added. This brush is good for base coating small minis and doing the dirty work (washes, metallics) but the mediocre sharpness of the tip makes it hard to paint lines and tiny details. You'll need to use a different brush for that. Also, after washing the brush it is more difficult to reshape into a sharp point than other brushes. 4 stars.

I was hoping to get at least a couple of painting sessions with this brush before the synthetic bristles became unusable, but the brush came split to hell and even after brush conditioner it still was a split p.o.s. First photo is of the brush right out of the box, second is after brush conditioner and a paint attempt. Simply awful. Wait til the series 7s come down to a non-extortionate price and save your time on these.

This is a nice brush. I ordered a #10 bright. When I got it I opened wit and the brush is tiny! I hate when this happens because not all brushes are the same when it comes to measurement. The quality of the brush is very well made and I will reorder but maybe a size 40???? Would still recommend, just watch the size

A great value brush takes a lot of washing and continual use.

Best line of brushes I have used for miniature painting. Holds paint great, has lasted me much longer than other brushes and the bristles are in as good condition as when I took them out of the package (with help of some brush cleaner). Top of the line, the only brand I will be buying for fine detail work from here on out.
