Left this up over the winter due to illness. The edge where the grommets are ripped away from the shade cloth on 2 sides. The shade was great last summer but it should have lasted longer. Will salvage what I can probably will use it around my chicken pen.

Ya'll, I love this shade. My backyard is so terribly hot in the mid-afternoon with the sun just beating down on me. I spend a lot of time outside and would prefer not to have to siesta in the middle of a project. Just about the time I get going good, I have to come inside for a few hours until the sun gets a little further away. I have a pergola covering my patio and I can attach one end of this to the frame of the pergola with clothesline cord and the other end to the fenceposts on the other side of the yard. It shades the entire yard and I'm sure lowers the temp under it at least 10 degrees. It makes enough of a difference that I can keep working through the afternoon out there if I choose. Even if I'm not working directly under it, I can spray it down with water and cool down the back yard even more. I love it.

We bought this to shade the back patio from the afternoon sun for the dogs. It provides some relief but the mesh holes are so large that a lot of sun & heat still comes through - not much improvement. Also, it is flimsy, reminds us of recycled plastic bottles - looks pretty hokey used as a shade for a patio. Not the quality we had hoped for. Its just ok. The best part of the entire product is the reinforced corners. We will have to buy something else, this is too cheap and lets in way too much sunlight/heat.

Bought to replace four 30% we used last year as a west side shade for our garden. Two of the old panels were torn. Bought the 40% for extra durability and so far the plants are ok with the extra shade. Quite cooler than out in the afternoon sun and helping reduce watering. The size is a little long for our use but fit elsewhere and was easy to install and tie using only one panel (instead of four). Has held up through several wind/storms, super hot dry weather and playing cats.

I was skeptical about these shades when they came in, I did not think they would hold up well. I have now had these out all summer, and they’re still hanging in there! I live out in the country in a very windy valley, and am impressed these have not been torn to shreds (think, Oklahoma, where the wind comes sweeping down the plains, kinda windy). I leave them out all the time and they have survived the sun and thunderstorms alike! My dogs appreciate them very much. My dachshund loves to lay out in the summer heat under the shade canopy, she will refuse to come inside! Well worth it for the good price!

I ordered this a few months ago and weather here has been such that we didn't need it. First 100 plus degree today so installed this last night about 8pm. Had .2 of an inch of rain last night and light winds from north west. My garden is right up next to my house on the south side with a covered porch on east side. Fairly well protected from this kind of wind. Went out to check today and at least 1/2 of the rivets were pulled loose and was flopping in the wind. I am a licensed contractor with 50 years experience. I built a frame out of 3/4 emt tubing with a frame around the outside, one middle support dividing the 20 ft and 2 middle supports dividing the 10 feet way. I tied it down all the way around and in the middle. Didn't work. I have to believe people wrote reviews of this stuff early or were paid. If you can figure out a way to anchor it like maybe sandwiching between 2x2's it might work. I did a lot of rope support over the top of it and then zip tied those to the pipes so might get me through this summer. Is cheap enough to consider this a seasonal expense and that is the way I am looking at it. It is quite comfortable under it if you can secure it and still lets a fair amount of light through. Now granted we will have days and weeks of blistering sun and I am not using this to grow lettuce or spinach (wouldn't work here), but rather to give my tomatoes, peppers and egg plant a little reprieve from the sweltering heat. Great concept poor execution and if someone would have mentioned some of this stuff I would have done what I did first. I still have no confidence it will make it 2 months, as it might be gone by the weekend but is worth a try. Is very lightweight, almost too light weight. Lesson learned and will probably try a different product from a different vendor and would suggest you do that as well

Great quality for the price and size was accurate fit. Our pergola was damaged before this item arrived and we replaced with a different unit. Vendor was easy to deal with for returning the item.
