Self-defense is important since you never know what you might encounter in public. Having a little something on your side can always help. Put this on wife's keychain for safety. Easy to use, just turn the top button and press down to spray. Have not tried it and hope we never have to, but it should work if ever needed.

Cannister is compact and light making it easy to carry on short or long hikes.

Pros:-A large cloud does disperse from the canister and the reach is pretty far of about 10-15 feet.-The cloud quality is fine enough to disperse throughout the area and create an invisible barrier of the spray.-I did get a little bit of indirect-expose to the deterrent, as the cloud was dispersing, and my nose did start to burn a little bit and I did get an itchy throat that resulted in some coughing.-A functional safety that's easy to remove.Cons:-There's no mention anywhere of what the deterrent is or much of it there is.-After spraying, the nozzle doesn't immediately close as material is still coming out for another half second. However, once the material stops coming out, there's no leaks and subsequent sprays work the same.-There's no print anywhere on the canister as to when it was manufactured or when the expiration date would be.Overall, I think it'll work fine for home defense or personal defense from a person. The cloud that gets dispersed is pretty big with a far reach. However, since there's no mention of what deterrent is being used, I wouldn't rely on it to defend myself from large animals.
