Smooth and easy to place marks for renderings. A bit delicate to hold. Breaking into smaller pieces works better.

i use them to sketch images on my acrylic paintings. They work very well and come in a handy tube that keeps them protected. I would buy again

This is good quality charcoal. I like that the pieces are well protected in their thick cardboard tube and it's a great place to store those messy beasts. Once I break them into smaller pieces, I'll move them into an Altoids tin but I like that they came fully intact so that I get to decide where to break them. They blend well and leave such a deliciously rich black mark wherever I use them. I'm very happy with them.

Willow charcoal is always so pricey. I was skeptical of this product due to the affordable price. However, I was pleased to find that it is a very good quality product for an amazing price. We use willow charcoal for rough conceptual sketches of art and also some blending. This willow is soft and easily glides on the paper. It blends nicely. I especially like the storage tube that these sticks are packaged in. The tube does a great job of protecting the sticks from breaking and it's a perfect size for travel. Highly Recommended.
