We ordered several packs and several size. Like soft, super soft and medium. They sent soft and neutral!!! Like a number 2 pencil neutral!!!??? Very expensive to boot!

They're easy to sharpen but some of them have hard scratchy bits in the "lead" that can damage the paper. They're not my favorite.

i love these pencils, they’re soft charcoal so it’s easy to get good bold, dark marks and i particularly like them for figure drawing on newsprint. that being said, they’re also prone to squeaking on the more textured paper that i’ve occasionally used them on which i find particularly unpleasant due to sensory issues.i also have issues sharpening them, a mixture between them being paper bodied and soft cored makes sharpening them particularly difficult, i already use a hand held sharpen on them and i struggle to not break the tip on at least every first and second attempt. perhaps i am to eager when sharpening them and you could have a gentler hand that i do but i find this frustrating at times

I was just looking for some tools for my plein air sketching tool box so you know functional but not necessarily gonna break your heart if you lost one. Found these and the price was great. They are wonderful.

Usa sharp blade buy extra. Cote' 3b pier noir #1710 is the only compeditor and they are harder to sharpen.

I absolutely love these pencils. The charcoal blends easily and it has the perfect hardiness. I am obsessed with them. Using them in every drawing now.
